On my days off, I drive for a bus company, usually school runs..Today I did a baths run, from Bedlington Station to Ashington baths..Now, I used to go to the station school, and the playground then seemed gigantic, seen it today, its so, so small, could hardly believe it..Dont things seem big when your a kid? Mars bars were twice the size, summers were hotter, and lasted forever, and when it snowed the snow lay for weeks.. Did anyone else go to that school, when Mrs Muter was there, And Miss Scott was the head mistress, Mr Gorman, Mrs Foreman

  10. Eye Pete, I remeber having to get out at the bottom of the bank, and walk up, the bus would come up empty, and we would all get on again...Remember one bus having to reverse up the bank for the lower gearing..yes the hair pin bank side was bad, but great for going down on bogies

  19. Hi everybody, From the station, born a bred in Edward Road, although I now live in Ashington. Attended the woodies school, before it got burnt down All my family comes from the station, grand parents from burnside. My late dad bred budgerigars, and years ago probably every pet budgie came from my dads crees My interests are writing, wildlife, aviculture, dogs, football I was employed in the motor industry for over 30 years, have just left, new vocation, support worker for people with learning disabilities would you believe... and, love it.
