heard the travellers were causing riots up the street lastnite and tryin to attack the door staff in the red lion and half of them got locked up. think thats about it really, supposed to be wansbeck council is gona spend 1.5 million on improving the market place and a few side streets that lead to car parks to encourage shoppers and traders to come to bedlington, but whether that happens is a different story, thats the crack at the mo anyway.

we have got a light but gets switched off at louse. u were in there till well after that LOL, u were the one that i thought had passed out wen i let you out the side door fri night then

dont mind if you dont want to go to the red lion but you could at least give the market tavern a chance and come and see our bands. you missed the irish band lastnite they were excellent we were canny busy n all. we hav a band on on a wk on friday called gintys taxi so watch for the posters up!!!

ur totally right bedlington is forgotton about but it always has been really, theres more houses than owt else and i think the coucil arent arsed just as long as people are still living here. i think if we all said that we were gona sell up and move away thats the only way wansbeck council wud do anything for us. they are a total waste of space..... there was a recent survey done of bedlington front street and everyone said that what bedlington really needed was new seats and bins, how pathetic, hows about gettin a new front street built because its all falling apart, look at maxi freeze thats been empty for about 2 or 3 yrs why dont they do sumthin about stuff like that coz the place is going to be totally derilict in a few years. people call it a ghost town now well they'll be right when it actually becomes empty!!!!

Denzel think u need to live a little, the folk bands r excellent, even i enjoy them n its nt the type of thing that i wud go to a pub to see. anyway we had a really good nite and we always have a rite laugh, the next one is a week on friday and its the irish music this time. pop in one nite, you'll have a laugh!!! and u missed battle of the bands at the red lion yesterday, it was a really good day up there, neva seen the place so busy, well apart from when i worked there.ive gt a cd of the winning band, they were called atlantis knight from blyth i think, but they were absolutely fab!!and thats not my kinda music either but we all enjoyed that too

Just thought Id ask is anyone going to come to the tavern on friday night for our band?? Its granny smiths maggot or gintys taxi, one of the two i get confused coz ones irish and ones just folk but the two names confuse me anyway im rambling on and just making myself look even more stupid than I am already so band 9pm friday night come and join us and have a sing song. emma x p.s dont know whats happening about the paint but i shall inform you lot when i find out seen as you all like to know the gossip!!

saw a few drunk strange people in the market tavern over the wkend, did tell them that they'd missed the band which had been on last fri nite. but watch out for granny smiths maggot which will be on a wk on friday.about 9pm!!!

yeah the radgies think they are real artists hence the word 'piss-artists!!!' At the end of the day though they are still outside the pub and not allowed in, whats a little bit of grey paint meant to do, the brewery is paying for it anyway so they'll just paint it and paint and paint it and they'll sharp get sick. I have my suspicions on who may have done it, (same people who put out black bulls window) as the wkend before they gt chucked outta the bull and the tavern but trust me idiots like that wont win with us coz we wont let them. sticks and stones n all that!! THE RADGIES WONT WIN!! the lasses toilets is in the process of getting done out, we have new basins and the walls are gettin tiled both inside and outside the cubicles so the writing will be disappearing. the new signs and lights outside are mint, apart from the grey paint the outside of the pub is looking dappa!!!

starting bar meals off soon once all the work is done to the pub which hopefully will be in about 10 weeks so watch this space for special offers

not a chance, I only work there!!!anyway if we did that the whole of bedlington would pop in for a free pint.but watch this space as once the restaurant is starting up there maybe a chance of 2 for the price of one on a meal!

if the effort is put in anything is attainable, and as they say if u dont succeed u must try and try again!!! watch this space the tavern will be a good pub once the time and money is put into the place!!

Hello everyone, Just thought Id start a new topic off about bedlingtons pubs, we all know that bedlington has been going downhill for a a couple of years now but i know we all more or less blame the council for their high taxes that people pay ect ect. Anyway more to the point what I wanted to say was THE MARKET TAVERN IS GETTING BETTER.everyone has a bad perception of the market tavern being a dive and whatever else they think but I would honestly say it is alot better now, we have the karaoke on a thursday night, every fortnight on fridays we have either gintys taxi which play folk music from the 60's and 70's and the other band is granny smiths maggot, which i might add they are all very talented musicians. we have just been given a piano so when the refurb is done inside we can have sing along nights and stuff like that. All IDIOTS have been barred from the place, there is cameras covering all areas of the pub and we are catering for an older crowd instead of the stroppy teenagers that the pub is known for having in. It is run by Sarah and her dad Dave, Sarah used to run buzz and slap harry's in ashington about 6 years ago and her dad used to be in the royal navy.also there is her mother maureen and sarah's daughter sacha, oh yeah and her fiancee mark,mark is one of the head chefs at the three horse shoes. Then there's me, Emma, I work part-time there and really love it. At the moment the pub is being refurbished on the outside, we have new signs, lights ect being fitted and need yet another paint job seen as some plank decided to put grey paint on the walls as they were walking past, acidentally on PURPOSE by the looks of it. The toilets inside have been done out and we now have a kitchen which is in working order ready for the changes to be made inside for the restaurant. I truly reccomend if people are passing by just to pop in and have a pint, theres a nice atmosphere and you dont have to keep looking over your shoulder to see whos lurking about. We also have a bored up which consists of what we call 'ritchie-isms.' Its all to do with silly things people say and if they are heard by any of us lot they go up on our board. Anyway I look forward to seeing everyone sometime soon Emma x p.s GRANNY SMITHS MAGGOT-IRISH BAND PLAYING THIS FRIDAY @ 8.30pm!!!!
