Theres a scheme running in Leicester at the moment called quick reads, it may well be running in other parts of the country as well. It's aim is to get people to read books but I dont know how many people take it up.

My favourite book is the Bible, probably not many people would agree with me but I think its one of the best books ever

I meant they've started using a eeprom ( or some such ) chip with emulators on them as firmware.. thats why they've said the emulators can be updated from the net. On the face of it its not really lower spec at all, its just a different way around the problem of backwards compatibilty . I can see the reasons for it.. i just think that when a new system comes out ..if theres a no games around straight away it gives developers

a chance to make a name for themselves by raising the standard rather than just releasing the same games just hashed over .With a large back catalogue from older systems i think it takes longer for developers to start working on new code... they just use the same stuff from the last platform because the public still accept it .. All this technically power they hype on about is all well and good but its only being used to snazz up up old code in most cases.

sony insist on backwards compatibilty due to the almost 500 quid price tag! and it sounds better with 1500 titles available.. no doubt a brilliant machine however i think ill wait.

I think a video game shop in Bedlington would be an excellent idea.

It would allow the town's gamers to save money and try a greater variety of games. Mainly though, it would also keep all the spods out of the pubs.

Has anyone visited Bedlington's newest petshop yet? Whilst on my regular Saturday bike ride I stopped to marvel at the sign: knowing the level of intellegence of some of the town's inhabitants it has pictures of a cat and a dog upon it, subtitled with the words 'cat' and 'dog'... just in case any of us got confused. Well done Petshop of Bedlington!

I love my cat, i got her from the Cat & Dog rescue center last year. The vet says she's a Somali, but i dont care, she could be a regular alley cat for me - i LOVE her!

She's so happy and friendly - you can see a picture of her if you click on my name, i have her as my profile pic.

funny how nintendo DS is out selling th psp by miles ..and have sold every Wii so far produced..which they make a profit on ...unlike microsoft and sony ..sony lose 150 -200 quid from every PS3 thay sell!! Its all first person blasters on the sony and microsoft machines .. i like funny games with bright colours

I think I would prefer that to the Wii, simply so i dont hit anyone lol I think the Wii would have been even better if it had the graphics of the Xbox 360 or the PS3, but nintendo seem to have kept with the game cube graphics instead, realy dont understand why.

Don't you find it just a little hypocritical to speak of "Fighting like a man" when you hide behind a nom de plume, and spend a good part of your posts pretending to be anyone else but the real you.

I understand the need for privacy, and the value of a nom de plume, especially in a small town setting, but I find it particularly cowardly to use it as a shield, from behind which you spew insults, and any other petty attacks which may appeal to your somewhat stunted intelligence.

Forums like this are meant for , and are of value in, discussing opinions, experiences and thoughts on any matter of general interest. We never have to agree, and usually don't. But disagree or not, we have a right to be treated with courtesy, and a responsibility to always show courtesey and respect to others.

In my opinion, it is this lack of courtesy and respect on your part which has lead to such a strong reaction against your posts, and made you the target of much criticism.

If you write like an arrogant and immature fool, then so you will be treated!

And, that "Monsta" is only a part of what being a man is all about. So get off your imaginary horse, and grow up!

This is debatable, as is the fact that I have grown up and hate riding horses. Any way getting back to the point I agree if I’m aggressive to whomever that they should be able to take up the fight and be aggressive back. However I have had nothing but insults about the way I was typing, I came here thinking this site would be lax about typing shortcuts and slang, but I was wrong and found out that I was talking to a bunch of stiff upper lipped arrogant people.

This is Bedlington a tough colliery village, not Cambridge University!

heard they got a controller with gyroscopes in so when you move the controller the game moves too. bit like the wii except no chance of you smashing the flat screen or injuring yourself!

lol I think the PS3 is going to be great but I think its price tag will put some people off buying it, especially since games like grand theft auto 4 are going on all consoles at the same time. But Ive heard that the next GTA for next gen consoles will be exclusive to PS3. Complete change of subject but did You see in the paper other day about a new control pad for games? its a helmet and you control games with your mind. It would prob be ok as a novelty but cant really beat a real pad.
