December 26, 200916 yr Hi there,Ive asked my dad and he said the Seddons moved away years ago and he thinks they have sadly passed awayThe Owens.... my dad knows Les Owen and Brian Owen are still alive but they are grand children of that familyThe Tilburys.... Brenda is still alive, Ronnie and Gracie and Harvery have passed away. Keith, their grandson is still alive and still living in choppingtonNot sure about the Rushes but The Rice family lived somewhere opposite number 16. They were called Sammy, Lizzie and their three sons john, neil and billy. Neil is running the choppington miners welfare now. They are relations to my dadLofthouses.... the sons were billy, horace, les, colin and frank. Billy and Horace passed away, les lives at ashington, colin lives in yorkshire somewhere and frank still lives in choppingtonAs for my dad and his family.... My grandad was called John but known as spike or billy, his wife was barbara. Both have passed away. His sons were my father (Billy known as spike), my uncle Gordon who has passed away and their sisters Margaret, Betty and Jean. Betty lives with her family in guide post, Jean in bedlington and Margaret in PegswoodAnd me and my dad live in good old bedlington station!Hope all of this is a help to you

January 30, 201016 yr Some of Eastgate is still there, but the houses on the right hand side as you go into Choppington were pulled down around 1998/99 (i think).hello greenfingers nice weather for gardening and golfing . wont be long befor we are doing our thing

March 9, 201016 yr I was wondering if anyone here could remember a theatre in Choppington in the 1950`s? I came across a photo which was taken in 1955. It clearly shows that it stood right next to `Wally`s` pub.I didn`t realise that there was ever a theatre there? It was called `The Star Cinema`Doe`s it ring any bells to anyone?

March 10, 201016 yr Author the cinema you refer to was called the star ..it was run by an old dear known as ganny mavin .. we all used to go there on a saturday morning to the matinee .. the photo i remember very well i have a wider one that actually shows me on the right hand side sitting astride a wooden bench .. i was at choppington some two years or so ago but the star was pulled down thank .. you very much for the photos i was looking to find a photo if the cinema thanks to you i now have one

December 13, 201015 yr Author 16 Eastgate will be just past the school and the first turn to your left? I`m trying to think who lives up there now... i think most of the people that lived there for years have either moved or passed away. If there`s certain people you`re wondering about just pm me, i`m sure i`d be able to find out where they are etcI had family that used to live at Choppington, they`ve moved now but i knew a few folk there and i`m still in touch with a lot of them.
