May 14, 200917 yr Not strictly taken today, a few days old now. Makes a good desktop wallpaper Some colour correction and artistic license employed.Well done GGGG! Any tips for a couple of amateurs, keen to get a camera to attach to an ETX125?!
May 14, 200917 yr Author Well for that I used a 30mm lens at f1.4I'm no pro. It's only a 4 second exposure at iso 400, I took some longer exposure shots but was impatient and missed focus.I was going to take some more tonight but it's really overcast at the moment.I've never used a telescope with a camera before but obviously larger sensor sizes and good performance at higher iso levels with a nice fast lens will give good results. A focus lock at infinity would also help.I'm hoping to try some time lapse if the clouds clear at all this week. I've seen some good examples with panning and tilting telescope heads like yours but I think I'm going to try with a mini-tripod and a plant turner to see how that turns out.
May 14, 200917 yr Author Just tried the plant turner and it's turning far too fast any ideas how to slow it down 3G?
