August 29, 200916 yr The answer will always be: when you were in your teens.But I think there's a very good case for the 1960's, when "the mould was broken" due to the immediate post-war generation. Unless you lived through it you can't really understand the forces at work then.It started in the late 1950's but got into full-swing in the early 1960's.
