John White Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 There`s more to this thread than stunt video shorts.Like this for example...
Keith Scantlebury Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Check this one out... I could do that! HUH, not bad but I was doing that on Tommy Mullins butchers bike in 1965 [with a full basket and flat tyres] . pmsl.
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Is this what you call a faux pas?
John White Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 Is this what you call a faux pas? MalcolmAlthough there is always a place for hand held, single camera technique (The Bill, Hill Street Blues etc. etc.}, this has not quite got the high production values I was looking for in this thread.Apart from that you could have at least tidied up a bit!
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 John, Suitably admonished if not chastised! I think the quality of the recording can be assumed given the professional nature of the home cinema installation apparent in the clip! However in my defence the title of your topic is ''Youtube at its best'', best being a subjective superlative adjective? I would therefore argue that high production value is not necessarily a guarantee to best quality content! Right back to my Turkish bagpipe……………
John White Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 Malcolm. At least promise you`ll get your hoover out before your next epic As the theme of the thread has moved a bit it gives me the opportunity to show a right bunch of local cowboys at work in a field somewhere in Eshottheugh...
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 John,I presume the foot stamping, thigh slapping, yahoo audio track is what we can expect to be pumping out into the ionosphere around Bedders soon………………….What a bunch of cowboys!
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Malcolm. At least promise you`ll get your hoover out before your next epic No can do, wor lass seems to think its too noisy when I fire up my home made hoover......
John White Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 John,I presume the foot stamping, thigh slapping, yahoo audio track is what we can expect to be pumping out into the ionosphere around Bedders soon………………….What a bunch of cowboys! Malcolm. The music track & the precise 20 sec version for the finished ad was composed on Apple Mac Garageband by an ex pupil of mine from the 70s (now friend & Synergy colleague) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1044352/He also tinkered around a bit with a TTTV/Channel 4 minor hit called The Tube. Don`t remember it myself Back all those years ago he was in a punk band so goodness knows what music he`ll play to the good people of Bedders & beyond.
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Malcolm. The music track & the precise 20 sec version for the finished ad was composed on Apple Mac Garageband by an ex pupil of mine from the 70s Hmmmm.......
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 The tube, ah yes made in the Newcastle hosted by a Manchurian halfwit!
John White Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 I can`t even get used to using a Mac mouse!Meanwhile back at the thread. Here`s an appropriately named one for a Monday morning...
Malcolm Robinson Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I can`t even get used to using a Mac mouse! So thats a Scottish Mouse and an apple???Like the shorts!
John White Posted November 30, 2010 Author Report Posted November 30, 2010 Ok so the production standard is no where near the other videos but in my defence I argue this is more than compensated by:Subject matterAaah factorInclement weather related music track (Snow Patrol) I rest my case! 1
