Adam Hogg Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Great to see people do not forget their history.
Brian Cross Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Does any part of New Hartley mine still standing as a memorial Adam ?
Adam Hogg Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 No part of New Hartley Colliery was left standing after it closed, however there is a memorial to those who died in the disaster in Earsdon. The only thing left of it is what i think is the filled and capped shaft. Type into google map this: 55° 5' 15" N, 1° 31' 42" W I think this will be the old shaft of New Hartley Colliery.
