Maggie/915 Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 As we have two rivers in our Shire maybe we need to encourage everyone this summer of sunshine and Bedlington in Bloom to rediscover the whole town.We started today at Sheepwash and thought we could get to Bothal on the Bedlington Side.Lovely walk but there is no path right along now.Must look for other walks that have been discussed.Netherton Lonnen, happenny woods Etc
Maggie/915 Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Right slight change in thought pattern !How many pathways can you use to get to the Red Lion table 25.Ie via Gallager Park, Humford, Netherton Lonnen then Choppington all ending at what is now called Spoons
Malcolm Robinson Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 So you like Mornington Crescent too! Not that I understood much of it.........
mercuryg Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Right slight change in thought pattern !How many pathways can you use to get to the Red Lion table 25.Ie via Gallager Park, Humford, Netherton Lonnen then Choppington all ending at what is now called Spoons Well, I begin at Choppington, head to the bus stop and end up at the Lion
Maggie/915 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 Gallagher Park is a great asset to the town.So much space . I had not realised it linked the town to Bedlington Station. So many pathways in or out.Pity the rats have ways to escape when damaging items.CCTV that's the answer .
Maggie/915 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 Right mercuryg head the other way to SheepwashThen walk along the river to Stakeford.Next catch the bus to the Lion.Under the bridge is a great sculptured mural.
Maggie/915 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 Walking through our award winning Plessey Woods wrapped in history is a wonderful walk.Railway history bridge then bus to Morpeth.Where, I wonder do the buses stop now?
mercuryg Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 Right mercuryg head the other way to SheepwashThen walk along the river to Stakeford.Next catch the bus to the Lion.Under the bridge is a great sculptured mural. Indeed, it's very beautiful! I like to walk in the woods behind my house (Choppington Nature Reserve) and if you've never been it comes highly recommended.
