mercuryg Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 We just need the Double up Today, Good Luck Melanie. I think that's expecting rather a lot....
Maggie/915 Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Melanie has some brilliant ideas for our town.Let's not loose her.Bedlington needs anyone who can help. 1
mercuryg Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Sym, the new mayor is one of our very own......
Maggie/915 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Congratulations to Malcolm I believe are due .
mercuryg Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Indeed, Maggie, and a better man for the job would be hard to find.
Maggie/915 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Agreed mercuryg. However it is going to be a difficult job.I hope everyone regardless of political persuasion helps with the difficult or almost impossible task of regeneration.Whether your a 'Doom and Gloom ' individual or an MP or a NCC representative the future has to be working together for the town we love. The people involved in the 'Make a Noise for Bedlington' also need help with the job in hand.No negativity. Not to sure who we can trust in this 'Post Election ' time.Surely the old guard will feel, the need to help in any way they can.
tomtom Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Let me add my own tribute - good for you Malcolm Robinson, now go for gold.
Vic Patterson Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Are congratulations in order for Malcolm? what is the situation? I've tried reading the posting, even between the lines but just don't quite get the picture.
Maggie/915 Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 It is my belief that Malcolm is the new Mayor of West Bedlington Vic.
Malcolm Robinson Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Thanks folks and of course I will let you all know the score. Been pretty hectic at work recently but it should start to ease off this week! Yes I am chair of the Town Council and because its a Town Council the chair is called a mayor. I have no doubt many on here will keep me on my toes!
Pete Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Congratulations Malcolm, will you have to wear one of them heavy chains and a three cornered hat?
Symptoms Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 To save me looking ... what party is the fragrant Mal the Big Daddy?
Malcolm Robinson Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Wait for it Sym...............INDEPENDENT. No political party only people working to benefit the Town. 2
Canny lass Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Well done Malcolm, err.... I mean your mayorship!
Musicmusik Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Mare can be short for nightmare although that tends to be more pertinent if your christian name is Boris. I am sure this will not be the case for Bedlington.
Vic Patterson Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Thank you Maggie, yes I think congratulations are in order. Congratulations Malcolm, I hope you are able to fulfill some of your goals, if not all! and enjoy your tenure as mayor, make sure you enjoy doing it because when its not fun it becomes hard work! those chains are alright as long as there isn't a ball attached. The people of Bedlington are lucky to have you in their corner, good luck. 1
Malcolm Robinson Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Thanks everyone for your well wishes, the job started last week! I have now got to go and sort litter bins out and concrete pads.........oh the glamour!
Malcolm Robinson Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Yep but sometimes you get to bite the hand with the shovel in!
mercuryg Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 How are the bins coming on malc? I'm keeping chewing this gum until I get council approval where to dispose of it
