6.       How long is a dog watch at sea?

Answer = 2 hours

Many watch systems incorporate the concept of a dog watch, whereby one watch is split into two shorter watches so that there is an odd number each day. Doing so allows crew members to have a different watch schedule each day.[6] Often, the dog watches are set at dinner time to allow the entire crew to be fed in short order.

The question used to be - Which four footballers with O's in their surname have played for England.

The question today will be :-

Which five male footballers with O's in their surname have played for the England men's team?

Peter Shilton, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, George O’Best and Jackie Milborn (Wor Jackie)!

Ok - to quell the protest you can have a starter for dix :-

 Peter Osgood - 4 caps, 0 goals (1970–73)

@Ovalteeny might be able to help:)

Edited by Alan Edgar (Eggy1948)

I assume you mean with the surname starting with O, so Osgood as you say; Michael Owen - 89 caps (1998-2008); William Oakley - 16 caps (1895-1901) & Russell Osman - 11 caps (1980-83) 7 Peter O'Dowd - 3 caps (1932-33).

Nope - the surname doesn't have to start with 'O' - they just have to have 3 O's in their surname like Osgood.

I'll let you stew on it - closing down the PC for tonight:)

Bugga, if only I could read questions properly. I guess that's why I failed my 11+ and ended up at Westridge.

Back to the drawing board.

I can only come up with 2 :- Tony Woodcock - 42 caps 1978-86 and Ian Storey-Moore - 1 cap 1970. It's obviously a trick question.

Callum Hudson Odoy? Asking for my OH.

Yep -your OH is correct👍

I t must be over twenty years ago when I first saw the question in a newspaper, so long before Callum Hudson-Odoy, when it was name the 4.

Now it's name the five and so far we have :-

Peter Osgood                       4 caps, 0 goals (1970 - 73)

Ian Storey-Moore                 1 cap, 0 goals (1970)

Tony Woodcock                  42 caps, 16 goals  (1978 - 86)

Callum Hudson-odoi           3 caps, 0 goals (2019)

and the 5th is :-

Lieut Colonel xxxxxx x xxx-xxxxx                  last match, a friendly in 1875🧐
