Local Area Council meeting 21/07/2021

For anyone interested................

Local Area Council meeting for Cramlington, Bedlington and Seaton Valley.
Warning you will need a strong constituion to watch all the way through, its about 4 hrs! Planning takes up just over half that time so the real varied local business is after that.

On top of what I asked about in the meeting here is the list of highway questions I have submitted this morning:

1/ 40 MPH Choppington Road. Agreed to be reduced to 30MPH why hasn’t it been?
2/ Look at the B1331 between Bedlington and Netherton Village, especially approaching the ‘Wonky’ roundabout. Residents on Broadoaks having trouble exiting their estate.

These two have been mentioned and minuted before at previous LAC’s.

3/ Shields Road, Hartford Bridge. Thanks for the temporary repairs to this road any idea when permanent repairs to the sub structure might be done?
4/ There was to be a safety audit done for the bus stops on the same road. Any update?
5/ Any update on the crossing on Netherton Lane outside the school? It has been included in the LTP.
6/ I’ve seen the new speed bumps we have fitted on the A1147 at Stakeford. These are bolted into place. Presuming they are a very much cheaper alternative to the old fashioned speed humps, can we use them in residential estates?

Unless you want to brush up your knowledge of two storey flat roof extensions I would suggest you skip to 2hrs 39 mins into the video for  - 'Question Time'🙂

As usual with this “wonky “ website I looked back and found the answers to the questions arising at the end of the post!! @Andy Millne!!    Never mind the folks trying to get out of Broadacres, what about the residents along the B1331, I’ve already complained to NCC about the speeding from the Hazelmere roundabout to virtually Nedderton village. Yon ‘wonky’ roundabout doesn’t suggest a reduction in speed to any of the cars/motorbikes whose exhaust systems sound blown.

Did Miller Homes have ANY consultation with the council about the impact that such HUGE new housing estates might have on the transport infrastructure of this relatively small town?

All fine and dandy looking after the needs of the MANY new Bedlington residents but please let’s take a close look at the impact on the folks who were here before the new housing developments!

Lilbill15,  I had residents on that estate who asked me to see what could be done.  Ive now ( I presume) got residents on another estate who have asked the same.  Common denominators................wonky roundabout and pressure on road systems.     One of the things I have asked for was the 30MPH extended up to the village and I have asked for some speed reduction suggestions on that bit of road too.

There are traffic and highways questions asked and answered with just about every application I have sat on.  Can't say I agree with most of their reports and usually I end up stating the bleeding obvious to most people, as in the above meeting!

@lilbill15 - I didn't have any problems viewing any aspect of Malcolm's post:punk:..

So attempting to be helpful = 1) was it that all of Malcolm's comment was not downloaded to your tablet?  or 2) is it the broadband download speed from your BT Hub/WiFi/SKY box etc. that's causing the problem?:iiam:

Hi there @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948), no no idea at all except that I forget that comments read backwards, read the? Intro then had to travel up the page to read the main content. I should be used to this by now 😁🌈xxR

have you heard from @Canny lass recently? Wondering if she’s just busy but like to be sure she’s ok xxR

For me this appears to be the most logical way to follow the conversation! (But I do have difficulty moving around the Gallery especially closing pictures.)

Sorry, when I learned to read we were told to start at the top of the page and travel down. I can’t understand the logic of following text UP the page x:book:😁🌈xxR

Seems logic to me. To follow a conversation I read the next posting, then it's answer, and so on, not the last posting and not understanding how the conversation arrived there! but as long as one understands how it is being posted then all is good!

Could your "settings" be wrong or different? one for the experts.

I know @Canny lasshas said in the past that the daylight hours are very limited in the winter months so in the late spring, summer, and early autumn  months the Swede's spend a lot of time socialising outdoors and preparing outdoors for next years winter months.

Add to that CL + OH have been 'covid confined' for this years early spring and summer I suspect they are off seeing their family.:)

I'm fine! just been too busy coping with the heatwave and all the mature fruit it suddenly produced in the garden. Anyone want jam? I've got 37 lbs of it! I've kept up to date reading the site (on my phone - not the best instrument for writing replies) but most non-essential, heat-producing electrical goods (computers among them) have been 'in lockdown'. Thanks for your concern.

Not sure why this comment needed to be approved by a mod, maybe @Andy Millne could have a look?

 Hey,Mr Fox, thanks for this. New things seem to be happening which is unsettling for the likes of me, who hasn’t yet mastered the intricacies of the site anyway. I had a red letter message saying I was replying too quickly and must wait for (can’t remember.. seconds or minutes) before I could submit my reply??? Seriously @Andy Millne??

I had the same - my message went red and required approval. Must be the heat, far too warm for me. I'll have to move to the Outer Hebrides😎

I’m told Benbecula is particularly fresh at this time of year and the airport is not usually overcrowded 😁🌈xxR

Blummin eck! And look what happened to me:- ATTACKED by an angry swarm of hornets, buggers got me twice on my right ankle Saturday morning, last 2 pics are this morning 5 days on. Bliddy agony- red hot needles pricking my foot for days after the original excruciating stings! Didn’t disturb owt, they pounced from nearby undergrowth, after Max initially, then cos I waded in to bat them off him he put his head down and ran, me behind him but not fast enough! Talk about shocking! My first ever experience of hornets, had bee and wasp stings which were painful for a while but NOWT like this agony for days now 😖🐝

@lilbill15That looks nasty! The reaction to a hornet sting shouldn't last more than a couple of days. Then you need to see a doctor. Probably need some sort of hydrocortisone treatment - locally or by mouth.

TIP: Due to your penchant for rambling about in woodland and long grass, I strongly recommend you to carry a tube of antihistamine cream in your pocket (Anthisan is excellent, so is Boots' own make). If biten or stung get a dollop on straight away and rub it in both on and around the bite. It's especially good for hornet stings as they produce histamine. This action will save you days of itching and agony,

Many thanks @Canny lass , as a retired nurse I do carry anthisan and savlon cream in my pack along with mediwipes.  There was more than one sting in that area and I did consult a Dr asap which was Monday morning as it turned out (111- out of hours medical help took 7 hours overnight to respond) and I have just completed a weeks course of cetirizine and paracetamol. This was my first and hoped last encounter with hornets, vicious little buggers !😱🐝🐝!! I’ve attached today’s foot update 🤣😁🌈xx85E94012-94D1-407B-9CC6-873E7A44019D.thumb.jpeg.c50ce039bf0e8a78bec4690c2c152ba0.jpeg
