I think that nicely encapsulates the situation. Seems like nobody much cares so no point flogging a dead horse. www.investinginbedlington.co.uk. Thank you so much Northumberland County Council.

@_pauls the web address '.................. co.uk' suggests an independent web site. Where did you find that address Paul?

All I can find is a link with https://www.advancenorthumberland.co.uk/latest-projects/bedlington-town-centre site but like you can't find anything either on the www or the Advance Northumberland site about 'investinginbedlington.

This screen shot shows my Google search of the 'investinginbedlington.co.uk' address and the search result takes you to the Advance Northumberland site :-

The website was up and running for at least three years, run by Advance Northumberland. It used to get updated about once every nine months with exciting developments such as "we're really starting now, honestly. Will be finished by January" kind of thing. It's a shame it has gone - was a perfect record of the years of broken promises and missed opportunities. I can see how they eventually realised that it was an embarrassment to them and took it down though.

Im 58 this year and i think i will be lucky to see this completed !!

And all of those millions of pounds from levelling up funds and town centre development programmes amounts to a carbon copy supermarket, four shops and 6 flats. Oh and a footpath.

Not exactly what I'd call a "comprehensive redevelopment"

Been saying it for half a century now...

The day Bedlington stops allowing its votes to be taken for granted by the major political parties is the day we'll start to see some real change.  All the rest is empty words!

The problem is that we have never had any of the Town Centre Improvement funding or the Levelling up stuff or the High Street funding!  We have had some 'Get building' funding with match funding off NCC but really thats all that it gets done! We are in the Boarderlands pot but thats across the whole area.   We really need NCC to champion and promote Bedlington specifically,  to get into the larger pots but for some reason????
