  1. It would be that bad if CBD was more dangerous than alcohol. Although it isn't. But alco is easy to buy, cannabis isn't. Of course, it needs more researches. But banning now without a solid reason is kinda silly imho

  3. Could it be the same team as this one of "Bedlington Mission" ? The poster in the background says "Bedlington Mission vs The Rest of the League" but I cannot make out the date on the poster.

  4. As my aim throught my school life was to escape into the world where you could have adventures and all the teaching staff wanted me to absorb information that would enable me to fill in exam papers with ligitimte information I can only think of one that, at that time of my life, wasmy hero - Mr Holland, Dutchy, the games teacher at the grammar school. Dutchy let me run free in the real world. Cross country was majic even though John Ross (from Guidepost) always got past me and finished first. The run - turn left out of the school gates and down to the road under the black bridge and up to the Bank Top and left down the Furnace bank. Over the white bridge and turn left along the river on the Bebside side and back along to the black bridge - under the bridge and climb up the bank to join the blue bridge over the A189 back into Bedlington land. Turn left running between St Jons estate and the Palace estate up to the Wallaw cinema and left down Palace road back to school. No teacher following you on any part of the run, just running free with ones own thoughts ☺️. I escaped the teaching staff on a numer of occasions to visit the outside world eg. 1963 (or was it 1964) to see Morpeth flooded - LIVE - not some past event documented by someone who wasn't there to see the event! Naturally the strap was delivered across rhe rear end on a number of occasions and normally if I had missed an adventure at school Dutchy would ask me, descretely - good day out yesterday?

  5. That is incredible and amazingly helpful. This is all the sort of material that needs recording. Anyone who was 10 emwhen the club started will now be 80 so it needs capturing. Over the course of the season I have researched football in Bedlington. The first ever competitive game was on 1 December 1883 when Bedlington Burdon FC beat Rothbury in the first ever round of the first ever Northumberland Senior Cup. Burdon never progressed further than the Blyth & District League and folded in about 1909. The most successful team was Bedlington United who joined the East Northumberland League in 1898 before progressing to the Northern Alliance and the North Eastern League before dropping back to the Alliance and then going bust in 1938. United played at Hollymount until 1920 when they moved to Church Lane. There is 135 years of football there. Even if it is limited to a page and a half per season with the league table and a small commentary about the season it gives a 200+ page history of our local towns clubs.
