  1. Because UKIP are HONEST smudge, they don't indulge in electioneering.
  2. Chris, the tory candidate, is definitely attending Maggie. Not sure about mr lavery, and I do know wendy met with the UKIP candidate sonwould expect her to be there.
  3. Also... "Jayne Middlemiss is now supporting the campaign...." Pleased to hear this; Jayne's TV presence may be considered 'lightweight' in many ways, but she is a 'local girl done good'; I remember her when she was a barmaid in a Bedlington pub! A little 'celebrity' endorsement does not go amiss. Notably, she wasn't asked to comment or add her support - she heard of the campaign and sent a message. Also interestign is that St Cuthbert's Chruch were not asked to ring the bells - they offered, a gesture that is much appreciated. Saturday's turn-out should be impressive, to say the least, and should also be seen as the beginning of the campaign, rather than the end. .
  4. Yes, it is indeed. The letter is, in fact, extremely patronising and dismissive. He is clearly unaware that the reason the MAN4bedlington campaign has garnered such support - more than 1500 supporters on Facebook alone - is because the locals do 'believe' in the town. I have it on good authority that he's not in support of the campaign himself. If he can do better, then let's see him do it.....
  5. Also... "I'd love to hear from the Ukip haters here exactly what they hate?" Then ask them; there's a group of youngsters gather outside the Bedlington office, I hear, and from what I've also heard, they are quite happy to discuss.
  6. What a great post; I think, threegee, smudge's reference to 'nationalism' is a different sort of nationalism to that you are referrign in your response, and I also think you're aware of this. I'm still undecided as to where to vote, mainly because - as I've said before - the current breed of party leaders leave me cold and unmoved; I have been primarily left wing most of my adult life, but these days the Labour party is a sham, a pale vision of what it should stand for, and to my eyes, the true labour movement died with John Smith. I wouldn't countenance voting forthr rich party, and the lib-dems are a waste of space, so that really leaves me with UKIP and the Greens. Well, UKIP, to be frank. The problem is they are so hell bent on the immigration card that it bothers me, and to no small amount. Immigration is not the biggest problem this country has, by any means, it's simply the one the Daily Mail reader thinks is the biggest problem. Threegee, and supporters, talk of the indoctrination of the people by the political elite - UKIP are as bad as the rest. I have to confess, however, that having looked carefully - well, as carefully as I'm bothered - at the options, it is UKIP that fits the bill more than others. If they got rid of the bumbling buffoon who tries, but fails, to come across as the Man of the People as its leader, and installed someone who actually is down to earth and an average bloke (or woman) then I'd be more inclined to support them without reluctance.
  7. Met with Wendy yesterday for an update on how things are going, you can keep an eye out for more features in the local papers this week. One interesting item - the good people of St Cuthberts Church have offered to ring the bells for five minutes during the demonstration - a symbolic and welcome gesture of support I think.
  8. Good for the youngsters! Not stating a political preference in any way, simply good to see the younger generation getting into politics in any way, shape or form. I hope they'll be at the Make a Noise demo....
  9. Impressed. Hope the younger generations keep it up.
  10. The holes are where the ancient aliens who built the church kept their sandwiches dry.
  11. I do think you're a little wide of the mark, Tony! There's a difference between murdering millions of Jews and wanting to leave the EU....
  12. In all fairness, I'm not sure that Finland, with a population of a tenth or so of that of the UK and an economy on a totally different footing, can be used as an example here. Is this party really their version of UKIP?
  13. Been up ten minutes and slain 3, vic! Choppington woods is full of them
  14. Not a personal attack at all, I simply don't appreciate being talked down to. You continually belittle others by implying that if they don't toe your line they are not, for example, a 'thinking person', and similar. It's rather inconsiderate.
  15. 3G, without the licence fee, how does the BBC get funds? This is is why it IS as much about advertising as anything else. Once again, your high horse attitude grates. We are not stupid, we can read, just like you, and we can also reach our own conclusions which, you may be surprised to find, don't always match your own.
  16. happy Birthday Brett
  17. Just had a brief meeting with young lady who is fronting this with regard to providing press release, very pleasant and dedicated she is too
  18. Would be nice to see an ad for this on that right hand panel.....lot of work going into this thing, I'm impressed.
  19. Tell him to get plenty shots in, these things will be subject to strict licencing very soon!
  20. Symptoms, you mean you dont watch Dave!
  21. Cheer Wilma, next time I fancy a walk I might head out that way! My late dog, collie, was also called Jess.
  22. Amazing stuff, thank you so very much! I walk the direction you suggest often, usually by way of my back gate rather than the road, and know the locations you are talking about.I've never got as far as the Morpeth road, although know the paths that lead there, so shall do that one next. By the way, I love this location, best place I've ever lived. Quiet, convenient and with truly lovely neighbours.
  23. Ha ha that's a great story! Go on nige, take him on!
