  1. he won't tell! Malcolm's a big meanie!
  2. In a way I agree, but when you live in what is essentially a commuter town this is what happens. Furthermore, from experience I found the rents on the Front Street prohibitive.
  3. The Wetherspoon rumours have been strenuously denied by the management in the Lion, and it would make little sense to have two establishments so close together in a small town. I reckon it will be demolished for housing.
  4. There is, locally known as 'the Burn'; walking my dog there a few years ago he was fifty yards ahead of me and stopped dead, alert; there was a cat on the path, a further hundred yards away, bigger than the dog (collie).
  5. Happy birthday malcolm
  6. Thanks! For the record, my mother was the very first inhabitant of the estate, on Dunstanburgh Close.
  7. 'Spoons policy! Maggie, I had a border collie until a couple of years ago, and he was a quite amazing animal.
  8. No dogs allowed in the Lion, Foxy......
  9. "I am left wondering if some of the old dogs in Bedlington were related." Maggie, many of the Old Dogs I know in Bedlington are related....
  10. I've just tried an old lap top of mine and unfortunately it's completely dead! I have a friend who often has the odd one lying about, will ask for you.
  11. Thanks Keith, can't wait! Sounds like one of those once in a lifetime holidays! Went on one once, never again!
  12. Angela, I believe it was a surface mine. Are you using a digital camera? Orbs are specks of dust magnified, don't worry about them.
  13. Pontius Pilate.
  14. I went to the zoo yesterday; the only animal there was a dog! It was a shih tzu.
  15. Not being pedantic just a quick correction: AU is on Glebe Road, Glebe Terrace is in Choppington.
  16. is it compulsory now? Last time I went it was a voluntary contribution.
  17. Thanks Malcolm, this is close to my mother's house so have registered objections.
  18. Absolutely, unless you're the party benefiting from the subsidies.
  19. From the associated documents: "Climate change as a result of human activity is now an accepted reality." Er, no, it's not. How long are we going to let these people peddle this highly disputed nonsense in order to make gains from erecting useless windmills with a short life-span that bring in money for a very small number of people and provide power that it suitable for boiling a few kettles?

Eileen, I took a baby to Carol a few years ago. A lovely woman, dedicated to hedgehogs and financed by herself and donations. Her garage was full of them when I was there! Hedgehogs should not be out in daylight, so if you do see one there's something wrong.
  21. Indeed they do still make it, unchanged from way back then too! I'm sure David Beckham is the 'face of' Brylcreem these days.
  22. Adam, If I'm right, the Naval Airbase was decommissioned a number of years ago.
  23. Superb exhibition Maggie, couldn't agree more. A real eye-opener and highly recommended.
