jeep grand cherokee srt8! 0 - 60 in under 5 seconds with a total of 480 horses! still not a super car!?
That's my point Monsta - what is the definition of a 'supercar'? Earlier - much earlier - you implied that an extortionate price had to be part and parcel of the deal; I reckoned not (after all, as a vehicle depreciates does it stop being 'super'?). Now you reckon if it gets to 60mph in less than five seconds and has 480 bhp its a supercar. A late 60's hemi Cuda could match that but, like the Jeep (Jeep - a supercar???) try getting it around a corner. Surely a supercar is something that is designed to the very highest echelons of performance, handling and so on? Surely sticking a big engine in a very ugly and rather ungainly off-roader (well, supposed to be off-roader) doesn't make it a supercar?
Your thoughts?
-
right o your way off the subject you gonna guest the super car or not!
I'll have a guess - LP500s Anniversary edition, 1988?
-
wrong again! ruf build and design the whole car from the chassis up!
No they don't; they buy in a chassis/body combination and also the engines, and put together what is a Porsche but with additional or supplementary RUF parts. They don't design the car at all, but use Porsche models as a basis. Their own website tells you this (not having heard of them, I looked them up). As said, it's just like AMG who take a base Mercedes chassis/body and add their own bits.
I'm very impressed with some of their performance claims, however; these things must be very, very light indeed.
-
according to the plans! (look at the plan on "revamp for bedlington market place") its right out side the tavern!
so they wont have far to walk with there tip rubbish!
Right, so how many stallholders will be able to park there at one time and unload/load their stalls and gear, I wonder? One, two, ten? Sounds like a recipe for a big traffic jam to me.I shall have a look later when i'm down that way.
-
no its a RUF! thats like saying an mg is just a rover!
it may look like a porsche but with extra ruf!
No, it's a Porsche but tuned and souped up.They don't build it, or change the engine, or anything, they simply customise it. Just as an AMG Mercedes is a Mercedes.

that doesn't stop the ones at mopeth! there will be a loading bay for them to use whats there problem?
What ones at Morpeth? Last time I looked there were three or four. I don't know what the problem is, just what i've been told. Interesting about the loading bay - where would that be?
-
So it is a 911 then. Just lightened and souped up.
-
Is it too much to ask for. quite simply, a market in the market place? I have heard, however, that stallholders are not going to take up slots in the new market places as they are not permitted to take vehicles onto it.
-
ok since no one looks like they know!
its a RUF CTR yellowbird 1988 - 1991
Never heard of it!!
-
The ony 911 replica I know of is the Covin, but that doesn't fit with your clue!
-
I don't know about you but i've just spent a good part of the last hour reading these and consider them a truly fascinating insight into the age; they deserve some publicity, and thanks to the owner for allowing their publication.
One thing I want to know - and if anyone can help me I would be thankful - is the writer talks of building a Chapel (he was a member of the very new Free Church of Scotland) - where was it, or is it?

That is the original Vector, I think.

Next!!

guess this one...
Now that's a good looking supercar. I think its the Ascari, but don't know the full name.
-
I imagine that
Damn! Rumbled!

Suppose it's better than one of the ones in Ashington who wired my wipers up to my car alarm then stole one of my dresses
I thought that bloke who serviced my car was wearing curtains!

Commisserations from me - always enjoyed reading his posts.

Keep your cool Monsta i am sure all will be revealed by Mercury G's dentist when he visits him after chewing on the shell
New dentures required, I think. Monsta, however, has topped me in the pedantry stakes - he's right, it does say 'how to cook' and not 'how to eat'!
-
Sorry are you trying to be funny!
only a proper thickit would try and eat it with the shell on!
Actually I'm pointing out the flaws in your recipe. I'm sure there are many others who, having followed your instructions, would be left with a boiled crustacean and no knowledge of what to do with it. Enlighten us, before copious lobsters go to waste. Do I crack open the shell and eat all inside, or are there things I need to do? At least I included dressing my ham sandwich!
-
What the Are you really that dense!
yes! If I follow your instructions I would be eating the shell! How do I shell it and prepare it? I have one here, and it's a bit hard on the tooth with the shell on!
-
So, you put the butter on the shell and bite?

10. Rock the town with an (accidental) explosion whilst launching an "experimental" rocket from a secret site in Plessey Woods.
It was going on for 50 years ago now, and at last the truth can be told. Well... almost!
I want to hear more......

here's a Link you might find useful Mercury-g
Thanks, mate, but I use Glasses Direct and their magnificent and amazingly affordable products products allow me to distinguish beauty from the beast! Seriously, I never denied the Gumpert is, emphatically, a supercar, but surely you don't think it's easy on the eye? Maybe you prefer the more aggressive look to a supercar, although I'm sure you earlier referenced the very beautiful Spyker. If I were paying the price of teh Gumpert, i'd want something that was at least attractive, rather than just startling, wouldn't you?
-
Actually it was named after a spanish ranch! with a herd of angry bulls who would attack you if you looked at them the wrong way! so its got nowt to do with beauty.
The Green snot rides agian! those head lights reminds me of something! something ugly!
oh and gumpert means nothing its just someones second name Roland Gumpert, former Director of Audi Sport
You really need a sense of humour, Monsta, or do I have to identify sarcasm with little smileys and such?
For the record, your assertion that Miura is named after 'a Spanish ranch' is a clear indication of reliance on Wikipedia, whose reference page compounds what is, in fact, a myth. Ferrucio Lamborghini always refuted the claim that Miura referred to anything to do with bulls, and it came about largely down to the link with the Lambo badge (a bull!). He indicated it was something to do with a district of Japan, for some reason or another.
Still beautiful, though. Unlike the Gumpert!

The back end of a bus! It's a TVR of some sort but I sort of lost count when they started introducing tons of different models.
