  1. Can't imagine it causing much traffic if the majority of stall holders set up at 7am?

That's if they can all park at once!!

If the area does end up not being big enough for everyone, then hopefully it'll be a case of quality over quantity (although it's hard to see who exactly will provide the 'quality').

This I agree with, but when was the last time you visited a market that had any quality?

  2. If any of you were wondering what I was doing sat at the side of the road this afternoon,

That was you??? It all makes sense now! We were deciding whether to moon you from the window of the 'Tavern but much more interest was provided by the antics of a geezer in a white Mondeo who'd been clamped outside the old garage!

Great idea, but what about focusing on the historical sites in the town? Morpeth takes great pride in its history while Bedlington seems all too willing to forget its own. Good luck, and look forward to the results.

  3. jeep grand cherokee srt8! 0 - 60 in under 5 seconds with a total of 480 horses! still not a super car!?:o

That's my point Monsta - what is the definition of a 'supercar'? Earlier - much earlier - you implied that an extortionate price had to be part and parcel of the deal; I reckoned not (after all, as a vehicle depreciates does it stop being 'super'?). Now you reckon if it gets to 60mph in less than five seconds and has 480 bhp its a supercar. A late 60's hemi Cuda could match that but, like the Jeep (Jeep - a supercar???) try getting it around a corner. Surely a supercar is something that is designed to the very highest echelons of performance, handling and so on? Surely sticking a big engine in a very ugly and rather ungainly off-roader (well, supposed to be off-roader) doesn't make it a supercar?

    Your thoughts?

  4. wrong again! ruf build and design the whole car from the chassis up!

No they don't; they buy in a chassis/body combination and also the engines, and put together what is a Porsche but with additional or supplementary RUF parts. They don't design the car at all, but use Porsche models as a basis. Their own website tells you this (not having heard of them, I looked them up). As said, it's just like AMG who take a base Mercedes chassis/body and add their own bits.

I'm very impressed with some of their performance claims, however; these things must be very, very light indeed.

  5. according to the plans! (look at the plan on "revamp for bedlington market place") its right out side the tavern! :D so they wont have far to walk with there tip rubbish!

Right, so how many stallholders will be able to park there at one time and unload/load their stalls and gear, I wonder? One, two, ten? Sounds like a recipe for a big traffic jam to me.I shall have a look later when i'm down that way.

  6. no its a RUF! thats like saying an mg is just a rover! :( it may look like a porsche but with extra ruf!

No, it's a Porsche but tuned and souped up.They don't build it, or change the engine, or anything, they simply customise it. Just as an AMG Mercedes is a Mercedes.

  7. I don't know about you but i've just spent a good part of the last hour reading these and consider them a truly fascinating insight into the age; they deserve some publicity, and thanks to the owner for allowing their publication.

One thing I want to know - and if anyone can help me I would be thankful - is the writer talks of building a Chapel (he was a member of the very new Free Church of Scotland) - where was it, or is it?

  8. Sorry are you trying to be funny! only a proper thickit would try and eat it with the shell on!

Actually I'm pointing out the flaws in your recipe. I'm sure there are many others who, having followed your instructions, would be left with a boiled crustacean and no knowledge of what to do with it. Enlighten us, before copious lobsters go to waste. Do I crack open the shell and eat all inside, or are there things I need to do? At least I included dressing my ham sandwich!
