  1. Tolerance

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Sydney.

I think it should be the goal of every Australian to be tolerant.

Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque.

We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy ", and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot."

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called "Iraq o' Ribs."

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret ", with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, "Koranal Knowledge ", its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.

If you agree with promoting tolerance, and you think this is a good plan, please pass it on...

Brian I totally agree with this plan and have passed a copy onto the local hairdresser Ali the Barber so that he can display it in his shop window

  2. Pete,

I believe it was for a regional segment so you might not be able to see it. (Inside Out)

The more we can raise the profile of the place the harder it is for the Great and Good to ignore us!

It will be available on sky Malcolm as they braodcast all regional broadcasts, I thinks it's in the 900 range, 975 I think is where I normally watch Look North. As you say it is good for Bedlington.

  3. I thought they were still trying to work out what neutrinos were never mind firing them at Cern? Aren't they trying to find them in the deepest mines on the planet?

    By the way Pete.........Thanks!

Watch out for the latest forum minutes!

    Film crew there this morning..............

Malcolm, I think theres a lot of things they do not understand, when they come up with a therory it is ussally disproved further down the road of time. Allegedly a Univesity not far from me carried out research on why cornflakes go soggy when milk is added to them. The money that must have coast could have paid for your gates.

Is the film crew local or national Malcolm? It seems Bedlington will be getting air time on the BBC 2/10/2011 (Its a Rich man's show)

  4. You might like this link (back to the subject of Big Cats, although beer is a favourite of mine....)

    Scroll down to 'latest sighting'.

Mercuryg, other than the link has there been any other sighting in and around the golf course or has the trail gone cold. About 25 years ago I was on my way to work, it was about 4.30 am. Not far from where I live there is a canal and I was crossing the bridge when I spotted a larg furry animal it was about 18 inches to two foot long, possibly nine inches high, probably native to this country and it must have been a river creature or an animal that lived near the river, never did find out what it was and never saw it again.

  5. I've never been in for ages Pete, but since they re-routed the road it is in a cul-de-sac now and it dos'nt get any passing trade as there is no through traffic in East Sleekburn as such, but I should think that it has changed a bit since 1965. I know the landlord bought some land off my brother to build a house on a couple of years ago and he has done nothing with it yet so he must still be content in the Havelock.

I have noticed that it is a cul-de-sac when I have been up there and because of that I have never ventured up there to see if the Havlock was still there. I would think that any visitors to the area would not even know that there was a pub there and just contiue following the road. Pity really because I remember it used to get quite full in the sixties.

  6. Lagers up from 64p to £2.90.

They did not sell lager last time I was in there, it was all beer, if my memory serves me right it was one and thrupence a pint. Come to think of it there was larger it was Carling black label it was more of a ladies tipple I think, not sure if you can still get that.

  7. Did you know that Bennies have installed CCTV and listening devices in the sixth form common room! To say I am not happy about this is an understatement. This was brought to my attention by my daughter. Now, at a time when we as parents are BANNED from photographing or videoing our kids at school functions such as nativity plays or any other event, by HSE and Do-Gooders because of, now how do I put this,...PERVERTS! So, Basically, what they are saying is that parents can't watch their children but it's ok for teachers and cctv operators to watch, listen and PERV at our children! WHAT! I DON'T !*!@# THINK SO!

I have told my daughter to boycott the common room and tell her school mates to do the same, and to find somewhere else to meet in school and if any of the teachers say anything to them about not using the common room, to point them in my direction! I know for a fact that this is wrong and am seeking legal advice!

This is an interesting read Merlin

  8. Millie, Bedlington is already THE forgotten Town, and it's not only about our kids having something to look forward to, but as I said the memories! Our kids will not have any memories, other than drinking on the black path or in the woods behind the cop shop. We need to go ahead with any plans we have to enjoy ourselves and give our kids the memories and worry about HSE later, no not worry, just tell the b......s to do one and stick their noses where the sun don't shine! If they don't like it, then tell them to go ahead and do us, once it's done, it's done! If they realise they can't stop us, they will move on to the next un-expecting mugs to try and justify their jobs! Like the Cooncil, we need to tell all interfering do-gooding b......s to mind their own bloody business!

Well said Merlin, agree 100%, espeacially the last bit.

  9. Can't say I blame them Pete. However at the end of the day it's our blooming heritage!

After a long chat with the company there is one hell of a bill to pay to get them finished off and back up here!

BTW, thanks for the tip you short circuited loads of waffle from various other bodies!

Always happy to help Malcolm

  10. Pete,

Tenacious investigative journalism at its best, well done for sticking doggedly at this subject.

Now, care to turn your talents at what is an invidious thorny issue, where are our blooming Hartford Hall gates!!!!!!!!! Actually they might be closer to you than us!

Try Chris Topp iron works Malcolm, mind you that was 2004
