  1. They hold a regular poker night at the working men's club near where I live, it's very popular and a lot of money is raised for the local hospital charity. Could be a good way to donate to charity if you can get it up and running Mr D

  2. Perhaps before I post I should check my spelling and grammar too ?

It may save me looking a little silly when trying to make a point.

Now we know monsta is out, does anyone else wish to show an interest?

I have 4 (including myself) available on a Sunday afternoon so far.

I have not yet secured a venue.

Count me out to as I not for gambling and its to far to travel :jump:

  3. Summarising the press cuttings and information on all 3 organisations;

= They each intend to provide local radio content which will include or champion Bedlington

= Ultra Radio will transmit from Bedlington, although the studio will be in Ashington.

= Synergy will have studios in, as well as transmit from Bedlington.

= Koast Radio is hoping to be in Bedlington. Latest Facebook posts suggest a premises delay - but we should know in less than 1 week as they are due to launch on 1st November.

So yes it seems that up to now, there are three groups which feel that a Community Radio Service would be of benefit to the area. They won't all be able to be "on air" [i.e. on FM licenced by Ofcom] at the same time though. So perhaps people should be able to listen to each of them in turn.

Will Koast be broadcasting over the Internet?

  4. I knew I should have stuck in and tried to hone my football skills when younger, or went on that locksmiths course when I were a lad. Playing football or crime is the only way to make a decent wedge in this day and age, you get massive rewards no matter which one you do even if you are caught ducking and diving

Merlin, never give up just look at Rooney if he can do it so can you.

  5. Didn't someone post on the board about buying some BS title a good while back? Now if he'd though to mention in passing that he was a millionaire we'd have told him... errm...

If you are reading this m'lud please come back, we didn't mean to take the !*!@# . You need to understand that it's an ancient imitation ceremony that all Bedlington gentry are required to go through.

In order to validate your title of Honourable Sir of Bedlington County it's necessary to sign this small rectangular - but mostly blank - bit of paper bearing the letters patent (H.S.B.C.) in the lower right-hand corner; then stand on the ancient Market Cross and proclaim to everyone on the Front Street the traditional cry "The pints are on me!". You will then be taken by your grateful subjects on a guided tour of all the places of interest in your realm - thus completing the time-honoured ceremony.

He may have bought the title but he is showing interest in Bedlington which is more that NCC have done acording to many posts on this web site.

  6. Pete, Brian,

So what do you classify as British these days as we have rushed headlong into embracing multiculturism and a global economy?

I think nationality is, by and large, a birth right but that isn't really what is being talked about.

I suppose what I really mean Malcolm and I opologise for the strong langauge, Stuff the common market lets get out and return all Sovereignty back to GB.

  7. Newspaper reports are that he is going to get £200,000+ a week making him the highest paid UK football player. How oscene is that! - at least I don't pay to watch morons like that kicking a ball about - alas, some people do though.

I totaly agree, he has made Man U look like a bunch of idiots, he played absoltly rubish in the Word Cup and he has continued to do so in the Premier leauge, he is also a shining example to young people to day I think not, but I doubt if he cares when he is earning that kind of money.

  8. Strange saga the EU, I remember when we had the reforendom in the 70s, I have not meet anyone yet that say's they voted to become members of the EU, yet there was a huge majority in favour of joining.

I remember when we joined everything doubled in price over night and has continued to so ever since.

I have never considered myself to be European and never will, I am British and always will be. Euorope is the other side of the water.

  9. One more Pete though this one not a golfer, bloke over heard me talking to a mate in the paper shop, about the cats he says he was driving past golf course and nearly crashed his car when a big cat ran across the road in front of him, swears blind it wasn't a fox as he has seen plenty of them in his time. Same as the others didn't want to say owt before, in case of ridicule!

Yes I can understand people not wanting to say anything but if the evidence is that strong and it does appear to be so, why not inform the BBC they at least might investigate

  10. Pete Tesco now own the car park! After they rebuild, the car park will be customer parking only 2hrs. Wansbeck don't exist any more! Northumberland County Council (Coonsil) are still looking into parking charges across Bedlington, but it will happen at some point.

I remember watching WallMart the movie and the tactics they employ to take over the comunity where they site their supermarkets, seems Tesco are no different.

So will there be anywhere to park in Bedlington that Tesco's do not own or is this a further shunt into oblivion for Bedlington.

And hears me thinking Bedlington Mechanics still played there on the weekend

  11. Definitely going to be 2-3hr parking for clients only.

who owns the car park? as I remember somthing on here a while ago about Wansbeck considering bringing in charges for car parking in Bedlington or am I getting confused?
