Mercuryg excuse my ignorance in financial matters but am I correct in thinking as you are paid in dollars you are now better of when you exchange from dollar to pound .http://www.exchangerates.org.uk/USD-GBP-exchange-rate-history.html Is devaluation of the pound also set to aid UK-based companies whose earnings are predominantly overseas.

  9. I did not know the picnic had been revived and had taken place last weekend, I must have missed any advertisements that were made. I have not heard anyone say how it went. and never noticed the shows set up anywhere. What kind of turnout was it as the weather was not to good, did it have a march down front street with any bands, I heard a pipe band on Sunday when I was in the garden was that part of the picnic event ? The news post has a story and photo. http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/news/local/picnic-spirit-revived-in-bedlington-1-8006517

  13. Andrea, has rained on Angela's parade May looks set to be PM by the end of the week - possibly even sooner, how wonderful then the exit processes can begin to free us from the dictatorship of the EU As May has already said a number of times Brexit means Brexit When it comes to getting the top job politicians are quick to change views opinions and policy's
  14. Well maybe Gove will get a second bite of the cherry, I think he would make a great PM, such a nice mannered chap

  16. One man's meat is another man's poison things liked by one person may be distasteful to another, but we are very lucky to live in a democratic society. Something that one person likes may be distasteful to someone else. Fred: What do you mean you don't like French fries? They're the best food in the world! Alan: One man's meat is another man's poison. Jill: I don't understand why Don doesn't like to read science fiction. It's the most interesting thing to read. Jane: I wouldn't want to do her job, but she seems to love it. One man's meat is another man's poison. http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/One+man's+meat+is+another+man's+poison
  17. The EU is starting to unravel it's just a matter of time before its all over for the unaudited, unsackable, unelected, gravy-train riders
  18. She is a committed Christian,do you think that is wrong ?
  19. I agree, I think May is just another member of the, we are all in this together brigade , Merkel. May and Sturgeon, it kind of slips off the tongue like Larry Curly and Moe.
  20. Very true, I think he would have went for Gove but now it will be May.
  21. I think a lot of MPs voted May and Leadsom just to remove Gove from the possibility of party members electing him. In both previous contests conducted under the current system, the candidate who took first place in the initial round of the MPs' ballot failed to go on to become leader. Only Conservative members are eligible to vote in the election. That amounts to about 150,000 people If that number is roughly accurate, though, it would mean just 0.23% of the population of the UK get to decide who becomes the next Prime Minister. If Leadsom is elected leader she would be the least experienced prime minister since William Pitt the Younger.

    Get Over It

I agree webtreckker, I don't have any phone or broadband from them bit I am thinking of moving my savings. The classical elite theory of democracy is what sets the elites apart from the rest of society is their personal resources, such as skills, intelligence and a vested interest in government This perspective also holds that the much larger balance of society (me and you) is incompetent and unable to make decisions relating to their governance. https://www.reference.com/government-politics/meant-term-elite-democracy-206f0ffd06e8080
