  1. The chips at the Station are always good Brian but I have never been in the Percy since 1965, usally use the Railway when I get up there. See the Ausies have given England another hammering at cricket.

    :D

I have been to the Railway for a beer, the last time was about six weeks ago, but i do enjoy the Percy for a pint and a chat with Harry the Rabbit, when i was in Bedlington i had a few pints at the Market tavern where i met Emma (bedlington bar lass) yea the Aussies have done it again to England I am not a fan of the Aussie cricketers

  2. austrailia is full of decendants from murderers and robbers, plus there al backwards not to mention there wierd obsestions with

    sheep

Monsta you are right about everything except the sheep it's the Kiwi's that have close relationships with their sheep.

    (what's obsestions Monsta)

  3. Australia would have been my second choice after Canada too..What`s the price of things over there, groceries and clothing wise,is it cheaper than the UK?

Groceries and foodstuff are generally cheaper than the U.K. petrol is about half the price of yours but when you consider the exchange rate of the pound to the dollar that is when Aust looks very good.

  4. I returned to Bedlington recently and i thought front street was a lot tidier and the town in general was cleaner than when last i visited, but alas the woods, what a mess hardly the wonderful green clean area I remember as a kid,and the plastic bags hanging from tree branches what is the idea of that! come on if someone has the time to pick up the dog turds you would think they would take them home and dispose of the bags and contents properly.

  5. I'll bite, Brian,

    What's a "Yowie"?

I will probably regret asking, But somebody has to be the goat!

    Joe

PS, If I wasn't living in Canada already, I would probably have said Australia!

Gotcha Joe; a Yowie is a mythical creature similar to a big foot it has a place in Australian aboriginal culture

but i don't know if anyone has seen it up until now......gotta go something at the back door .......BC

P.S I have been to your country and i thought it was great.

  6. Pencil Neck is frantically compiling a party itinerary for you as we speak. I hope you like Stella. And the Railway.

Sounds great I am at your disposal I luv a pint what has happened to Emma from Bar lass ........B

  7. Just thought I would let you guys know i will be back in Bedlington soon, i leave here on the 4th July,i will be there for about a month, my cousin has suffered a stroke and i will be spending most of my time with him but i just might have time for a pint or two...............Brian

  8. When I visited Bedlington last year there was talk of a face lift for Bedlington Rail Station, I know the re build has been proposed for a few years but will it be a realty one day? I believe a passenger service was envisioned with a link to Newcastle.

  9. Too true Joe, there are too many Monsta's who make excuses, plenty lip service and no action.

    Typical :(

It is apparent we have a lot of negativity coming from some of our most respective contributors to this site, simply reading some of the posts made me feel like saying well " no point to it " and then Joe made his contribution and it made sense c'mon lets have a go at getting the woods cleaned up,if some of the kids get involved they then may start to appreciate what is staring them in the face...................BC

  10. Dont get me started on the woods! You didnt notice dog dump swinging from branches in plastic bags did you?

Seriously though, not sure if we do have a tidy up day, dont think we do...

Can one be organized, i did notice the dog droppings in bags hanging from tree branches...

  11. When i last visited Bedlngton I went down to the woods to revisit where I played when I was a kid,I must say I was surprised by the amount of junk that was in the once clean river Blyth, here they have a clean-up day once a year,a number of people go out and tidy up the beaches and all around the local area,do we have a tidy up day for Bedlington and especially the once lovely woods,if we do give me the date and it will give me an excuse to return to lend a hand ( and have a few pints with my rellies ) ...............BC
