...The castle was offered to the National Trust who refused it on the grounds that it would cost too much to restore and make safe for visitors. It was bought by the present owner (Sir Hugh Wakefield...
Great story Keith.
It was Sir Humphrey I think. Maxine did an audio interview with him on KEVI Radio a number of years ago I`ll see if I can hunt it out.
I find Chillingham a facinating place.

I posted a topic - HARTFORD HALL HISTORY - last year on this mysterious lady but drew a blank with everybody. So if you know anything please let me know.
Heard this from my Dad after he did some R & R at Hartford as an injured miner. No story to go along with it other than that. Sorry!

Hartford Hall had a Grey Lady!

What you think. We could even have our own Jocker writing the letters and what hes wrote. Got footage for explosions underground to begin with, but what do the members think ?
Lets know we got 4 weeks in Jan and Feb to shoot maybe.
Lets know
John.

Was Fat Mo's another name for the Domino - Lucifers? I mean did it go from the Dom to Fat Mo's then to Lucy's?
If I remember correctly Fat Mo`s was an under 18s disco that was over the road from Lucy`s in what is now the surgery. Didn`t last long though I think.

I`m wishing for...
Working Street Lights!
Wow.
Did an online repair request today at 1205: status requested urgent.
Came home at 1335 to see a Warren Access cherry picker vehicle pull under street light. By the time I had parked up lights were fixed.
Well done NCC Highways.

A modest wish indeed.
Merry Christmas Vic.

Does this mean we will be hearing you on the airwaves soon?
Hopefully not too far away Canny Lass.
We`ve got a bit more to raise for transmission kit hire etc. But I would expect sooner rather than later.

Question:
Why are kind funding donations like buses? Cos you wait ages for one, then two turn up!
Many, many thanks to The Sir James Knott Trust for their wonderful £3000 cheque.

Dear All
As always, whenever I get some news, you are the first to hear:
Thanks to a Co-operative Community Fund grant we are now £1000 closer to our next Bedlington fm broadcast.
How about that for a Co-op divi?
Keep an eye out for a full story in the news section.
Many thanks for your continued support.

Who needs to be able to run when you can do this. Should have been in Team GB.

They all had the nick name "Blue Eyes"? Got no idea who the other two are!

He says: it depends what the problem is . If it's the shorts gliding downwards because of the weight of the water then a bit of good old fashioned, British knicker elastic should do the trick. If it's the ramp structure then he'll need a bit more time to think about it.
I didn`t want to mention the shorts!

My old man sends a great big thank you for these pics! When I met him he worked for a company called Navire, who had a base in Blyth, and he visited Blyth quite regularly. The pics reminded him of his early days in the shipyards in Gothenburg and he said he could smell the steel! He is, or was, a design engineer - not so much in ships themselves but in the equipment used for handling passengers and cargo. If you've ever taken your car on a ferry there's a good chance that he designed the ramps and hoistable decks. He was also responsible for the system of stacking containers on ferries
Canny Lass.
Please tell him, glad to be of service.
Back in the early 70s I was part of a team that shot a 16mm film on a large ship being built at Swan Hunter.
I was 17 at the time. The smell I most remember was fear! Mine
Thank god for HSWA 1974!
Can your old man give this guy any tips?
