Dear All
In the coming weeks, from time to time, I`m gonna ask for your help with programme ideas as they pop up in my mind.
What bizarre things did your Mam used to say, or warn you about, when you were young, that stuck in your mind?
Here`s my starter. But for obvious reasons I haven`t made my mind up if I will use it. Especially on a tea time programme:
"Dont sit on that cold step... You`ll get piles"!!
As I said please try & keep them broadcastable!
What am I letting loose!
-
Many thanks everyone.
Vic.
Streaming is tied into the licence, so therefore will begin on the first day at: www.synergyradio.co.uk
Hope you will tune in sometime!
-
Dear All.
A couple of hours ago we received some excellent news:
Ofcom have approved our first 28 day broadcast licence.
Synergy will be live from our Bedlington studio:
Saturday March 3rd
on
87.7FM
Hope to have your company then

Found a better SV700 clip. It has it`s clothes on this time:
A trained ear tells me this guy is running a damaged tape.
-
Now you`ve started somthing Threegee.
This is the beauty I did my very first edit on;
Just listen to that Helical scan head drum. How geeky is that a comment!
The Shibaden SV 700. Only mono but steady as a rock! I`ve still got the BASF tape somewhere. Insert edit out was a bit tricky though. There was a 5 sec. difference between audio & video out.
Ironically the prog. was about leisure provision in the new WDC & featured footage of the new Ashington Leisure Centre.
I was a student, then technician in the TV Production unit at Ashington Tech when I first used this kit.
The 640 colour vtr:

was rubbish.
Used to go through heads like nobodies business.
Made a packet for Tyne Video though!
I then progressed on to the Ampex 1" highband machine

Very Happy Days.
Many thanks to my old Lecturer Dave Rixon!

Just a reminder that the "Dark Day" in Bedlington`s history is well documented here in History Hollow:
-
I to watched the opening night of TTTV and the only advert that I can remember was for Sharps Toffee, I also remember watching Broderick Crawford 10 4 over and out, not sure if it was the opening program but it definitely was on, on the opening night. I seem to remember the opening ceremony was about 6.30, or 7.00.
Pete.
Just stumbled upon this thread.
This website might be of interest:

My first recollections of TTTV are the One O`clock Show live from City Road studios.
That was the day I was bitten by the TV/Radio production bug which shaped the rest of my life.
Now our local independent TV station comes from a shoebox in Gateshead!
-
So what was it?
As Brettly & Keith said RAF Typhoon as reported on Look North
-
Happy Birthday.
Bit late but I hope you had a good day!
-
Typhoon perhaps?
RAF have put their hands up for it.

The final result
I think I saw it move!

Hope they didn't drip paint on the OILCLOTH
Not a drip. Foster & Butters are true professionals
-
You managed to get the desks figured out then John, rather you than me
I can confirm that what John says is true and it is looking really good inside, the cuppa maker must have been busy when I was there though
And you sadly missed out on the bacon sarnies too. Which is a shame cos I was buying!
-
Great day today at 90a.
Foster & Butters have been in during the week & gone right through with another coat of paint. The place looks pristine.
Put the studio furniture together: brilliant!
Rounded the session off witha nice cup of tea & my first sandwich from Eats & Treats. Bliss!!
Open Day coming soon! Hope to have you `round

IF MY BODY WAS A CAR..
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ...
But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close
My traction is not as graceful as it once was.. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather..
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it --
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!
No. It could be worse. Your Big End could have gone too!

How about a radio station? Yep you guessed it......... I'M BACK! How are things John?
Merlin.
Things are great.
Building work is finished bar a door or two to varnish.
It`s not far off now.
Good to have you back

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Everybody.

Dear All.
More good news:
We got the leccy in today! British Gas contractor joined us up to the supply this morning. A day early. Their appointment wasn`t until tomorrow! Many thanks to Brian for saving the day & letting them in.
And there`s more:
The flooring guys are in laying lino & carpets. Do they still call it lino or am I showing my age!
Anyhoo; rapidly getting there. 2012 can`t come soon enough.
