One item has been an officially unreported running sore throughout for me, public sector pension deficits. The following with thanks to the Taxpayers Alliance: The official public sector debt quoted in the budget – £890 billion. Unfunded public sector pensions – estimated at £1,283 billion Unfunded state pensions – estimated at £2,717 billion Others including the Local Government Pension deficit, PFI, and nuclear decommissioning – £398 billion

  13. George Clark is doing a good job promoting Kielder on C4 with the tree house he is building on Amazing Spaces. Also that millhouse with the new waterwheel, with all the metal parts coming from.................Bedlington! Its going to be on again soon I understand.

  15. No Maggie there was only 3 of us at that, there are 9 councillors in total for West Bedlington Town Council. Also I have already put in a comprehensive reply to that whole document as a consultee (Bedlingtonshire Development Trust) and consulted on the amendments to it. This is in no way the original version!

If you want to watch the lantern parade it will be leaving Morrisons car park at 4pm - walking up past the library and doctors then up to big roundabout at Wetherspoons then turning left down Front Street down to Market Square. Big Bedlington Terrier and 50 lanterns. If you want to join in and carry a lantern be at Morrisons at 3.45
  22. Parade starts about 3.30pm-4.00pm, entertainment after that. Switch on was going to be 7.00pm and I think it still is.........
