Barclays Bank Building
Well that's a bit of OK news - I had a thought that if it wasn't sold it would end up as yet another eyesore that we seem to suffer in Bedlington.

Bedlington Top Club
Anyone shed some light on the future of the Top Club - I notice that the building has now been sold?

Bistro 62
As I see it, the crux of the problem in not being able to get a booking is that maybe the proprietors appear not to take bookings for every table to ease pressure on the kitchen!. Would you care to comment?

Black Bull Under New Management
To endorse other readers views - the best of luck to you in your new venture. Hope the pub turns out to be a bit better than the other one. I remember taking visitors there once when they didn't have any non or low alchol beer and no lemon for G & Ts.

The Gardeners Arms.
In reply to Keith and his comments re people who don't or won't say they come from Bedlington (e.g) the Middleton girl. Well i have only been here for about 10 years now, I wasn't born and bred here, in fact I was born in North Shields which I am very proud of - I am however very happy living in Bedlington and I have never had any hesitation in telling people that I live in Bedlington and I am a well travelled person both in this country and abroad. The only thing that upsets me about Bedlington are the empty and run down buildings on Front street (i.e) the garage and the old school which are in a hell of a mess. What on earth is the point of Lottery Heritage money being spent updating other buildings when these eyesores are allowed to continue!

Bistro 62
Anyone been to Bistro 62 the eatery on Front Street - I gather that it can be difficult to get a booking! Comments please before I try.

fell walking in Holland! - not such a silly question, plenty of hills in Limburg in the south of the Netherlands.

Sebastian's At The Millfield
Good to hear that the restaurant has reopened - my good lady and I look forward to visiting again after the Debastian's debacle.

Sebastian's At The Millfield
Thanks for correcting my translation - never was very good at languages! My good lady and I will certainly give the place our support.

Sebastian's At The Millfield
I notice from the large signboard outside that the new place is going to be called La Torres - billed as an Italian Mediterranean restaurant - perhaps with a Spanish influence - I thought that La Torres translates to The Bulls - or am I mistaken. Anyhow, I wish them well as it was a great disappointment to lose Sebastians.

Sebastian's At The Millfield
No way to treat a lady - or anyone else for that matter.

Bedlington Station
Oops! - for fage neds read fag ends!

Bedlington Station
Looking at the correspondence re the merits of Bedlington Station against Bedlington some of you need to have a closer look at the 'top end' at the closed down and decaying buildings destroying the landscape - the old school and the garage being a couple of them. Nice flower beds hardly compensate for the filth of litter and fage neds all over the place especially out side some of the pubs. Bedlington is a disgrace and sadly a sign of the times!

Sebastians - Contact No.?
Telephone Number for Sebastians is: 01670 824404 Great place.

St Cuthberts Church
Like many other Bedlingtonians I despair at the state of the town - run down empty buildings, fag ends outside pubs and litter all over the place especially around Tesco in the market place. If people have to smoke then why in God's name don't they put their fag ends in receptacles instead of the pavements - likewise why can't folk put their litter in the bins provided ot take it home with them. We had friends visiting us lately who were not impressed with town area - please, please will someone in authority sort the mess out!

Dun Cow
Don't let the lack of advertising put you off. My wife amd I have been to Sebastians several times since it opened and have enjoyed every visit - in fact we'll be there probably at the weekend.

Wansbeck Country Park
We are very fortunate in having so many lovely walks around the Bedlington area and my wife and I have done them all - several times. If you haven't already done so, you may wish to try the Hartford Hall to Humford Mill walk. This starts by crossing over a style over the wall just before the entance to Hartford Hall on the A1068 road out of Bedlington.
