Another "good" story today (1.1.13), Me and my family where asleep then heard a sound like a skip being dumped/dropped, however after waking up we found somebody had crashed their car into our van, the van is now a write off, can't be moved till NCC check the lamp post for damage, police are looking into the matter.

You see, not just a pretty face. The proof would be to take a close up of the north seaton concrete bridge ends and see if they match the photos. (Of course they could have been changed!)
Look to be stone to me Keith in the older photo, so they may have been replaced with concrete later on.

Just got my hands on old Bedlington Market Place footage.
Its on Cine film and will be digitised in the New Year.
Got it from a very well-to-do lady from Bedlington.
Let you know all about it when its been digitised.
Great good to hear, also on a information note: where do i go to pick up dvd's i ordered from you (sixtownships)? as i ordered some in september, sent you (sixtownships) a email but never heard back from you.

I think It would be 69 because the building changed uses a lot of times before the building was pulled down in 2005 and them flats were built.

Only need a couple of sink plungers!
This is what the cuts are doing they are sending wheelie bins to transport people round newcastle instead of buses.

I see your point Adam but Bedlington is no-where near as drab as the Station. None of those bussineses have been trading most of the year and open to the public with broken windows. Pressure can be applied to make these owners clean up their act., but owners like Tesco will be treated with kid gloves. There will be a fear that Tesco could just say bollix to the lot and high tail it out of town.
Also Keith it would help Bedlington Station if Network Rail sent some of their blokes to clean up the railway in front of the signal box must be over 100 bottles there, then the place would look a bit more tidy.

I think they will because i think they want to be in Morpeth more then Bedlington, question is when will they go?

Allan Stewart said at the South East Area Committee meeting earlier this month that EBPC has no control or responsibility over the infrastructure, and that Bedlington Station "has never been the prettiest of places" . That may be so, but the owners of these buildings should be shamed into repairing them, or sell them to someone who will keep them in good order and The Station might just have a chance in becoming a pretty place.
Until the residents and business owners start to take some pride in where they live, EBPC will be peeing into the wind in their efforts to brighten the place up.
The problem with owners of buildings is most could not care about the building as it is a cost for them they just want to make a large profit, however people say Bedlington is a nice looking place and Bedlington station is rubbish I disagree, Bedlington has it's share of building/sites in a state of disrepair, Tescos row (old Co Op, Spend N save, the gap site, etc.) the church hall (owned by a private developer since at least 2005) and of course Elliots Garage Gap Site all in a state, but the county council have not way of control so they can't do anything.
-
I am not sure about this, as the site is owned by a private developer and has been for many years so should they not pay for it not the public/county councillors?

Is it me or is this a sorry state of affairs; I mean have we really come to this?
It will not end there Keith. The Americans have in their constitution "the right to bear arms," however as the American show Family Guy states does that mean you have the right to have bear arms, or is it the right to bear firearms?

Very British response to the end of the would according to yahoo:
Britain
Britons have largely 'kept calm and carried on' - although some 'Doomsday preppers' are ready for the worst.
British sci fi author Edward O'Toole is so convinced disaster is inevitable that he has already moved to Slovakia to prepare for the end.
He says, "I think there will be a new Dark Age and I want my children to have a good chance of survival.â€
Other organisations have kept a stiff upper lip.
The London Fire Brigade spokesman advised: "Fit a smoke alarm on each level of your home, then at least you might stand a chance of knowing that the end of the world is nigh ahead of those who don't.
"If you survive the apocalypse you'll be alerted to a fire more quickly should one ever break out."
The AA said: "Before heading off, take time to do the basic checks on your car and allow extra time for your journey.â€
