Tescos Again
I knew it close, Tesco's had no interest in Bedlington. I am very sorry for the staff after years of service and months of uncertainty they have lost there jobs, I can imagine some will be transferred to other branches but sadly there will be job losses. Wonder if the next thing will be "Tesco's Row" up for sale?

Who owns the land?
Chris, There is a section on the land registry site that is a map enquiry. All you do is click on the map where you want to search, then the map will come up, find the place you want to find info about, zoom right in, then the Find properties option will be able to be selected, click on, then click the place on the map where you want to find the info about and you should be fine.

Land for Development - Bedlington/Nedderton
Just quickly looking Merc 3 properties empty/up for sale in Hazelmere to start and that is just a quick look on one website (Mike Rogerson) One thing you highlight is "what of those who live in their parents homes now and, in a few years, will have jobs, families and such - and parents still living - an want their own home in their home town?" They may want to live in the area but will they work in the area, socialise in the area? Personally I think not because there is no decent shopping provision only Morrison or Tesco, no industrial work (I mean warehousing, factory work, etc. before anyone goes "christ he is on about the pits again") Why I think that because there is no plan for Business or industry, thus people will be drawn away closer to where they work when everything rises in price (which it will), which is sadly out of the town.

Land for Development - Bedlington/Nedderton
First point Merc, The MOD objected in part with Newcastle international Airport, Both said it would affect the radar at Newcastle and thus make flights in the area unsafe due to that they objected and the application for the wind turbine was withdrawn by the applicant. Second point Merc, the land was not "Spare" it was the community gain which was earmarked for a pub, community centre and shop, but I wonder why the powers that be never enforced it Also if there is demand for them type of houses why are ones standing empty in Hazelmere, slaley court, Hartford hall all for which are "new" estates.
