The lakeside .............. BEFORE you choose to have the Sunday Carvery please have a look at the quality of the garbage they expect you to pay good money for. I did,nt and OMG is it shocking, I,m not one to complain but in this case I did and I got my money back............NEVER AGAIN

Dead Wood I have been saying it for decades and the beggers are still burning. I have said it on here before I think our town could be a cracking little market town, with the right people in charge, those more interested in the town and not their image.

I intended to post on here with regards to the "Chairmans" statement a few days ago but thought best not to, but I have to say one thing, I,m at a loss as to someone taking on the responsibilities of the position and NOT being fully converse with the finances of ANY business let alone a football club with let us say a "history" as The Terriers have had in recent years. Just an opinion of course.

Well my happiest memories were living in Alexandra Row, Barnton. I remember my mam cooking on the "range" and having a bath in a tin bath in front of the fire, we had an ootside netty complete with the obligatory nail, the netty was attached to the coal hoose over the road from the hoose it was bliddy cald in winter "actually it was cald ALL the time", I remember ice on the INSIDE of the windows of our bedroom, "clippy mats" were all over the floor and the lino was,nt very warm as it was laid straight over the concrete floor it was on reflection quite a hard life but I think it makes you appreciate what we have now. Happy days as they say......

Well as you can see from 2010 we certainly were justified in complaining about the lack of gritting however with the exception of 5th December 2012 where it took me 6 hours to get from the Angel to Bedlington, May I just say I think the councils have done an exceptional job in gritting our main roads so a BIG thank you, yes some of the minor roads are gritted less frequently or not at all but all in all so far so good. My personal view on 2010 was complacency and inadequet forethought and indeed planning, however I think lessons were learned.

The description of the "person" was nice young man with dark hair in his 20,s. I would imagine more notice would have been taken if anything was suspected but as I said he was very plausable and obviously gained the trust of two vunerable old people and a disabled girl.

PLEASE inform those who we know who are old, infirm, vulnerable or too trusting / naive. Tuesday.... my mothers next door neighbour was in her back garden with a very nice plausible young man who convinced her he could trim her trees at the rear of her bungalow for a small fee of £30.00 intimating he was in fact my mothers nephew she decided it would be ok so said yes, then as my mother saw this young man working round the back in the company of her neighbour she also said he could trim her trees this time he intimated he was in fact the neighbours nephew and he took the same amount off my mother, he borrowed my mothers steps her shears and weed-killer to do the job.... dumping all the trimmings on the ground to help keep the weeds at bay, he asked my mothers neighbour if she was happy she said he hadn't trimmed much off them so he said it would cost her another £20.00 to do more work she politely said no and he told her he would return on Saturday to see if she had changed her mind., and left in a taxi. I only found this out this morning I was obviously livid and wanted to "string this parasite up by his you know whats". I informed the Police who coincidentally were brilliant, I cannot praise them enough my telephone call was treat as a priority as was the treatment my mother received however as this little lowlife had infact carried out "some work" all-beit 10 mins worth there hands are tied they will keep a look out which I do believe they will.... but I think we can all do our bit and let our old infirm etc be more aware of these individuals and HOPEFULLY not get ripped off by a parasite. I inform you all not because of the money its irrelevant I just don't want ANYONE else falling foul to this individual or his ilk. My mother is in Millfield South but he/they will be operating throughout the area.

I was quoting fact Adam it was quoted in 2008 my point was his selective memory. And I do feel very sorry for the folks affected by the floods. But I do think now they will make all efforts to try to avoid it occuring again. I wonder if he will go on telly and applaude this lot for sorting it out.......
-
Well in my opinion as the 2008 flood was at the time reported as "unprecedented" I think they thought lightning will never strike twice so we will talk the talk and hope it won,t......... Screw the poor individuals who live there......... and no one can tell me it takes 4 years to decide how to stop the town flooding and what really galled me was our local MP blaming this government (I,m no fan of the coalition)however HE obviously has,nt got the common sense to realise Labour were in power in 2008 so why did they not get it sorted out then?
-
So did we and we got chased on countless occassions happy days. Excellent photos

I have heard that Holland and Barrets sell something called Bizzy bees which apperantly work to boost the system after a session, I have personally never had the need (well not for a long time)

Just a thought WHY on earth do we need a Bio-mass power station at North Blyth when we obviously produce MORE than enough power to meet our demands so much so we turn off our wind turbines............ Mind you IF it produces local jobs for local people I,m all for it.......... not wanting to contradict my question but Jobs in my opinion should be a priority........

Cars over shoot the tight bend because they go to fast and THINK they can control a car... pushing it beyond ITS and THEIR capabilities with regards to the re-opening of the road I was,nt living here when the council closed , maybee some sort of trafic calming measures approaching the bend is the answer and a roundabout ?
-
I feel heartly sorry for the familys concerned it was a right mess, its not just the crash but the months of hassle trying to get it all sorted out I am just happy no one innocent got seriously hurt......... Something similar happened to me 3am and some moron out of his head on drink and drugs drove his mates car in to mine the Police estimated his speed at over 60 mph both cars were write-offs, his was an old banger NOT insured mine was 6 months old, the insurance company took ages to get it all sorted, the low life got off as he was from a troubled background its about 10 years ago since it happened but It really makes me feel justice was done........ NOT........ I just hope justice IS done in this case.

DISMAL.......... and will the sports presenters and media STOP refering to these over paid primma-donnas as heros.... It should only be used for our forces and those that make a real difference to our lives...

I had the pleasure of meeting Jack Charlton at a Newcastle game years ago I was in a group of people and they were discussing the future of the then Newcastle manager Jim Smith, I was totaly unaware of Jack Charltons close proximity and he had been listening to the people in the group saying Jim Smith should be sacked etc, I was asked for my opinion and I said I was,nt in a position to say the man should be sacked because I was,nt THAT well informed about the goings on in football and lets be honest Jim Smith has forgoten more than we as a group will ever know about football, at this point Jack Charlton decided to have a proper "GO" at those who were calling for his head, he later took me aside apologised for any embarressment "HE" may have caused me and bought me a pint and who did he introduce me too refering to me as "his" new pal from Bedlington... Bob Stokoe and what a gentleman he was no airs or graces just a lovley genuine man I had a wonderful afternoon which I will fondly remember forever. I also had the displeasure of meeting Andy Cole a few years later at the North East Footballer of the Year award at The Civic Center and what a Prima-donna he was a REAL biggot so irrispective of who HE thought he was I told him where to go with his attitude so he did lol.. He will never be in a position to tie Jack,s or Mr Stokoes shoe laces in my opinion.

I personally think there has been an awful lot of monet spent nationaly ................. much the same as the Queens Jubilee .............I am all in favour of our Royal Family however the cost of the recent celebrations must be in the 10,s of millions and going back to the LONDON Olympics ( I agree with you there Malcolm )............ How much is it costing and will the cost be turned in to profit or will it be self financing ? I fear it wont make a profit to the contrary I think it will cost US money. But hey hoe its a bit late now.......But it was nice to see the "street" full of people even though I was at work and had to be satisfied with the TV or the pics via the tinternet.
-
Its a bit late but I got the answer to getting ALL the verges cut to Scandanavian standards, ALL the roads fixed, ALL the roads swept and new white lines put down, ALL the flower beds up to Kew Gardens standards loads of overtime for the council workers............. EASY get the Olympic Torch to be run all over the shire................ SIMPLES

FANTASTIC IDEA . If only we could adopt the same here. But disclaimers would have to be signed because of the H&S society we live in, common sense unfortunatly is not allowed to be accepted or indeed used.
-
My Mam has recently visited Norway with the Salvation Army and one of the things she commented on was how well kept the public gardens and verges are compared to here . I agree totally with Keith it certainly could do with smartening up.

Without wanting to offend....It has always been my opinion that a lot of the problems Bedlington has had over the decades is the lack of councilors who were,nt nodding dogs to those over the water. But I do see changes for the better and look forward to the future, mind you I hope its not 40+ years to late.
