Exactly right John !
We need crazy manic action.
The next five years are going to seem like an eternity !

Maintain , pull down , rebuild.
There is a hugh debate on these issues at this point in time.
A referendum is even seen as a way forward,
My feelings are that we should not 'live now pay late'
The PFI initiatives seem to introduce problems for our children and our children's children.
To quote the Moody Blues!
I remember Ellen Mitchell taking the Bedlington History Society on a tour of the new County Hall. The building , the stain glass ,the thought that went into the building was impressive. Regardless of 'party politics' I do not think it should be pulled down.
Our own council offices could be utilised for so very many things Why pull them down? Devise some plan to use them for civic purposes.
In 1976 the library in Bedlington is said to be the new library.
If we destroy every new build after a few years then we have no heritage .
My feeling is that we maintain and protect our heritage. I cannot believe we build ,not for the future, but simply to destroy .
Surely we destroy our World by using up precious resources in this way.
Maybe I am just too old to accept the new arguments , given by our NCC leader Grant Davey.

I hope we can do the same here in Bedlington.
Develop our town and work together.
Work, rest and play.
With a selection of shops, parking bays and even public conveniences .
Where is that manic wand !
-
The parked cars can be the biggest problem.
It is interesting that buses for the school now drop of by the main cemetery gates .
The joys of excess house building maybe, or teachers unable to park in school grounds.

I believe it is 200 years in August since this great individual was born in our town.
We should mark the occasion in some or many ways.
A sure and certain way to raise the profile of Bedlington.
Any suggestions?

I am staying 'Aloof'
It seems when there is trouble in the offing (visible but some way off) . Then it is better to stay 'a luff' (up wind).
That way it gives you the option of fight or flight.
The title of the article. In the Journal 22nd February was 'How the sea is in our language and our blood',
Another interesting word is 'Strike'. To close things down on the ship.
Then there is 'Scuttlebutt slang for gossip.
All sailing close to the wind.

You don't need to look to far Symptoms.
We have been trying to work out what my scribble referred to and have not got a clue.
Forty years on who can tell. A history lesson in itself.

No Eggy it is just my attempt to be humourous with a serious subject.
The article on seafaring terms in the Journal last Monday has a lot to answer for in this title.
Basically I hope the 'winds of change' blow quickly for Bedlington NCC and good old Arch.
It would be great to see things happen in our Market Place.
I hope your mothers prediction is not what happens in this case.
-
Sure Eggy go for it.
Just wipe my writing on the old programme.
-
Priceless piece in last Monday's Journal about seafaring terms.
In Bedlington I hope we are not sailing 'three sheets to the wind' or buying into a 'pig in a poke'. Afterall there is a need to toe the line.
-
When can we view the new plans?
Afterall it is March tomorrow and the role out of designs were going to be available for all to see.
-
Amazing improvements to Amble.
Visit the town of Amble then think how our town is going to change over the next five years.
That is with help and a fair wind for change.
Keep calm and Bedington can Amble on.

Winslow Homer tonight at the Coffin Chapel 7:30!
See the post above!

Some work seems to have been done to the area around the cemetery .
After an amount of rain it will become clear if anything has improved.
Fingers crossed .
In Bedlington we seem to be waiting patiently for so very many things to change for the better.

The shelters look good Malcolm.

Yep I read many papers.
Old school I guess.
Yesterday's Guardian included an article on what Robson Green believes to be his family values. His uncle has different political views to him but he still respects him and remembers many family political arguments.
Maybe worth remembering on this site.

Cutting edge humour threegee.
Basically 'you cannot be serious'
-
Surely the 'Daily Obscurer or the Daily Chloroform'.
-
Not sure what the answer is threegee.
All political parties are up to the same tricks.
Hence 'Spin and counter Spin'.
Money and power are always going to attract a certain type of person.

That is a real horror story Canny Lass.
There are some evil people in the World.
I hope this character who lives by the sword /laser dies by the sword /laser.

Happy Birthday mercuryg .
Have a great year youngun.
-
The problem is Canny Lass that the empathy factor has in some cases been lost in certain humans.
Mans inhumanity to man.
-
Great picture.
I find myself scanning for familiar faces in our generation.
Bedlington Families you have met along life's way.
-
Canny Lass the dreaded Big Brother lot have been reading and trying out these experiments.
Or so I have heard! Well ok I have watched them on the odd occasion!

You could always consider a career in demolition Symptoms.
Or maybe becoming an author.
