    Welcome to the group @Richard Norton. Just noticed your posting - don't know how I missed. Can't say I've seen the name Hub Butchers mentioned in the Market Place and I did a search of the Discussion pages using "Hub Butchers" but nothing came up. If you enter a phrase into the Search section add quotes around it otherwise the system searches for every seperate word in the phrase rather than just the whole phrase. I'll have a look through the old photos from that era, probably only a couple, and see if I can find anything but can't recall seeing that name.

    Welcome to the group @Jayson Lowery. The other two places that normally get a mention on this group and the Bygone Bedlington group (Facebook group) are Muggers Neuk or Salmon place but they were before your time amd may never have been mentioned by your family.

This school was founded in 1926 as Bedlington Secondary School for the areas of Bedlingtonshire, Ashington and Newbiggin, being built next to Bedlington railway station.The Grammar School systen was not introduced until the 1944 Education Act was passed and the Secodary School changed it's name to Bedlington Grammar School.

    photo forwarded to me by Bev Goodwill. We believe No 6 is Bobby Charlton. Bev recovered many photos when the school held an open night for ex pupils on 16th June 20i6 and the school was demolished in that years summer brake.

    This school was founded in 1926 as Bedlington Secondary School for the areas of Bedlingtonshire, Ashington and Newbiggin, being built next to Bedlington railway station.The Grammar School systen was not introduced until the 1944 Education Act was passed and the Secodary School changed it's name to Bedlington Grammar School.
