I have created this thread for everone to discuss/debate the upcoming local & parish council elections.
County council as well as parish and town council elections are taking place on 2 May 2013, which makes it a great year to have your say in the future of your county.http://www.northumberland.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=15621
Using the link above will provide information about voting, standing to be councillor and other ways to get involved in local democracy. From registering to vote to finding out how younger people can get involved, you will be able to find out what you need to know.

As explained above Keith,
This part of the forum is accessible to guests who have not registered so all posts, before being made visible to everyone, have to be approved by a moderator. It helps tackle any unwanted nonsense getting to the public eye.

They do Pan Haggerty at the Northumberland Arms on Northumberland Street. Really nice home cooked grub and a reasonable price.
Next time you're being dragged around town, head there for dinner but you have to fight for a seat.

The missus said it during the rugby at the weekend and it made me laugh

I was told by my teacher at school when I was leaving for the day what at happened but it wasn't until I got home to see my parents with the news on when I really watched in total shock and watched the second plane hit.
It was the most surreal thing I have ever seen in my life.

It is a tip round the back of there anyway and the skip is for the work that is currently going on in johnsons' show shop.
They are converting it to an upstairs and downstairs flat, no tenant for the shop yet however.
Surely there are litter pickers going up and down but is it a case of out of sight out of mind?
