  1. Hahaha, it looks like a teddy bear!
  2. Monsta: Definition of Pitmatic Just in case
  3. I love my cat, i got her from the Cat & Dog rescue center last year. The vet says she's a Somali, but i dont care, she could be a regular alley cat for me - i LOVE her! She's so happy and friendly - you can see a picture of her if you click on my name, i have her as my profile pic.
  4. Haha, i think we all have a bit of geek in us when it comes to computer games. I dont think Nintendo is all that bad, i remember playing Mario Kart with my mate when the N64 was released, thought it was brilliant! And that eel in the lake on Mario 64 scared the living daylights out of me! But yeah, Zelda is my all time fave when it comes to Nintendo. Majoras Mask was good, but not as good!
  5. When did i mention PSP / DS sales? By the way, they change every quarter. Nintendo didnt release an awful lot of consoles, most of which had to be returned due to faulty controller straps Nintendo make a profit on their consoles because it only costs them around £100 to manufacture the whole thing. Unlike Microsoft and Sony? What do you mean? They havent lost money yet. Oh, Sony lose 150 - 200 quid for each PS3 they sell? They spend £416 on manufacturing the 'basic' console, of which around £260 is spent on the motherboard alone. It's common for video-game console makers to lose money on hardware, and make up for the loss via video game-title sales "This is all good news for customers, who get all that computing power for a relative bargain. iSuppli called the PlayStation 3 an "engineering masterpiece," with a motherboard that looks more like that of an enterprise server or network switch than a games console. The console provides "more processing power and capability than any consumer electronics device in history," iSuppli said." So how can you complain? Who cares wether the toffs at Sony lose money - i want a bargain! You can keep Nintendo - with its 'funny games with bright colours"
  6. The Nintendo Gamecube died a sad death, simply because there was no variation in games / graphics from console to console. In fact most of the games for the Gamecube had already been previously released for the N64. And how many Gameboy games are also available for the DS and other Nintendo consoles? It gets boring after a while. Its all Mario this and Yoshi that, with a bit of Wario and Princess Peach thrown in for good measure. Must admitt though, Ocarina of time is still one of my all time favorites! I think the Wii is aimed at a younger audience. Maybe Nintendo didnt intend it to be, but thats what their consoles always end up as being, now that Microsoft is on the scene to contend with Sony. Nintendo dont stand a chance.
  7. Yeah - gyroscopes. Basically when your playing a game, say a racing game, instead of you pushing left on the analogue stick you just turn the pad to the left. Nice.
  8. Yeah - the Xbox 360 was exactly the same when it was first released. Wouldnt play the older Xbox games. It will play all PS1 games though. I also heard that rumor that Sony was going to stop the consoles from playing pre-owned games. So basically any game you bought, once it was installed on your PS3, it wouldnt play on anyone elses. Apparently they can do this - its Sonys way of clamping down on piracy and whatever, but they didnt bother at the last minute. (I asked an employee of Gamestation and he 'confirmed' it). I'm glad they didnt, because they would have killed the PS3 if they did.
  9. I'm gonna wait untill the price falls, then i'm selling off my PS2 with most of my games (holding on to the good ones) and putting that towards a PS3. I'm looking forward to FF13, in fact thats probably one of the only reasons to buy a PS3 in my book! As for brain reading helmet controller... er, even if that did happen - i'd never use it!
  10. YES!! Silly question really!
  11. Hi, just about everyone i know has at least one console in their home - mainly PS2, XBOX and XBOX 360. Also, the handelds are very popular, i see Granger Games stock of PSP games are increasing every month, whereas the DS stock seems static. In terms of retro games, a few people i know buy them, including me every now and then. Namely SNES, and Sega Saturn games - but only the good classic ones! I think if you stocked just any retro games, you'd have trouble shifting them. You know, these games are hard to come by, so if you did decide to try them out, i suppose you'd get people coming from outside of Bedlington to your shop. In general, if your thinking of stocking retro consoles and games, i'd start off with small stock and see how it went from there. The latest Console games are always going to be the most popular, so concentrate on those. Keep an eye out with those other game shops though - you'll pick up what works and what doesnt!
  12. The trade in scheme is one of the reasons why those stores are so successfull in the first place, I would be more than happy with a similar exchange scheme!. Granger games has a database with every game on it, and they have a certain price for each game that they buy - depending on how old it is and the condition etc. I think a similar system would benefit you too. I would be happy to sell off some games i dont play on, in fact i've got one or two which i could probably donate, as they are totally naff! One thing i was wondering, would you only sell PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360 games, or would you also stock older consoles and games, such as N64 etc?
  13. Wow, excellent idea, i've been saying we need one for years! Most of us have to go to Blyth or Cramlington to visit Granger Games / Gamestation or Game. To be honest i dont buy from Game / Gamestation because like you said, their prices are close to a joke.
  14. Exactly - the site wont be decided untill its clear what facilities the new center will provide. Theres no point buying a plot then realising its too big / too small later on: A: Undertake a survey within the community to ascertain the particular activities that are required to be provided for. B: To scope out the scale of a facility based on the findings of the survey. C: To review appropriate location options based on the outcome of B above. So why dont we all get in touch with WDC and let them know what we would all like to see?
  15. Yeah, you can add some filters to an image in Photoshop in a matter of seconds. But then, it just looks like you've added a filter to a photograph using Photoshop. You wouldnt want to frame that or give it as a gift, would you? The word 'Cheapskate' comes to mind.
  16. Here is the latest minutes from a cabinet committe meeting dated 05 Feb 2007. An intersesting read - just scroll down to COMMUNITY FACILITIES, BEDLINGTON.
  17. I saw someone taking photographs of a clamped car up the front street - could that have been related?

    Blyth

Blyth asking for a metro connection? It'll never happen.
  19. I know, it didnt seem that big when it was open but when it was empty it looked huge. Even with 3 seperate shops / offices there they will still be a canny size.
  20. KFC? No thanks. Last time i had one of those i nearly died of shock. I got some "chicken" drumsticks, but since when has chicken been dark grey and stubbly? Probably been dead for a few month and not plucked properly. Either that or it was rat.
  21. I wish!
