  1. Thing is sizsells when we are all complaining about lack of facilities in our town we might just be about to have a small glimpse into why..........

Can't quite believe the CPS stance?

CORRUPTION That just is ONE of the reasons there ARE others, but I suppose there all interlinked......... not exactly Wikileaks..... its been predominatly missmanaged and HAD abuse of power for DECADES.

I just wonder as to how far the corruption has spread?

In my opinion the CPS need to give their "heeds a shake". :dribble:

  2. Not sure myself but ex Newcastle footballer John Tudor had it at one time but it never took off because he got rid of the darts and pool teams, as he wanted a different clientele in there

I think he was hoping to attract them in from Darras Hall, Ponteland and Wansbeck cooncilors  you know the sorts all fur coats and no knickers

Your right though a more miserable bloke to run a pub I,ve nivor seen in me life.

  3. WE had/have a corrupt cooncil AND cooncilors OMG SHOCK HORROR  .....Its not implying that these individuals stole and commited fraud of the highest order or even had a missuse of power AND public money?......... well I,ll be.

Well I suppose there only copying our MP,s in that respect.

And its easy to get off with it just say "THEIR A VICTIM OF THE SYSTEM" see its,as easy as that. <_<

Now me personaly think they are no more than common thieves and should be treat as so irrispective of where they live and how much they,v got/stolen AND who they think they are.

There are a FEW more who SHOULD be a bit worried at the moment. :jump:

And to those people on the cooncil who have nothing to worry about........

    see ........."Truth WILL out"...

  4. Him speak with forked tongue. In the consumer forum When it was suggested that he worked there he said "no I work in Morpeth, I just call in when I pass through" See, my talents are wasted should have been a snoop.

Well regardles if he does or does,nt or even spells Bedlington with 2b,s I still think ALL the small traders in the town deserve a medal as big as a frying pan.......anyway whats wrong with a bit of enterprise :D

  5. Well I for one feel sorry for you and your neighbours. There was a similar situation where I lived previously, your right the polis say its not their remit.

So collectivley we had a "word" with the neighbours in question and reminded them that IF their house was being burgled as neighbours we would infact just ignore it because the alarm was going of in a similar way to the one your experiencing hence it was crying wolf however if they got it fixed we would as neighbours keep an eye out in the event it went off and do the right thing . Also if the house alarm is not working correctly and on your house insurance policy it states that it should be in the event of a claim it could be put in serious jepordy. :warning:

  6. I think you should have chosen your words a bit more wisley in the first place if you want an honest opinion

OK, sorry you took it personally it really wasn't meant that way!

I would question anything coming out of NCC at the moment seeing as I have a letter and a verbal guarantee by a lead officer and a leading elected member that we could use the 'Golf Club' money for a new capital project in the Town. That ain't going to happen now..............

(But if there was a decent road going into Gallagher Park that money would have been a dammed good start for something like a small multi use sports and leisure centre!)

Apologies fully accepted and my objections was not to the fact a road of some description was going to be put in. It just in my opinion made no sense and was a waste of OUR money because no one from the council Town/Parish/NCC had told US WHY its just a note put out on the QT consequentally that was why I objected if it had mentioned Sustrans etc as you have found out through your contacts I would not have made a reply to the post in the first place.

And your right it would have been a GREAT idea to help the Town, but can ANYONE from the council answer my question as to why Welfare Park cannot be regenerated AND where is OUR

money spent because they seem to collect a LOT of council tax but WE dont get VALUE FOR MONEY

The small multi use sports center and leisure facilities you mentioned could be situated there the infrastructure is already in place......... Or is there no money or is it not being used correctly? All I can see is we poor roads our bins collected, street lighting and litter collection and parks and flowers and to go back to the original post NO GRIT!!! :closed:

  7. Isn't it just Phillipa's cycle path, the Sustrans cycle way?

Thats going behind the cop shop then splitting off down to Gallagher Park and the other way across over to Front Street.

So why has,nt ANYONE from the cooncil been shouting from the rooftops what there future plans are?

Coz it's not the chuffing coouncil thats trying to get this stuff done!

BTW sizsells I'm not questioning your integrity and the fact that you have seen this notice, only what it could mean.

With regards to the "chuffing cooncil" its meant in a general way not just this propesed planning application....... Does ANYONE know what if any plans they have for OUR town proposed or other? and a 3 metre path it doesnt say CYCLE path.

With regards to you questioning my integrity well I think you should have chosen your words a bit more wisley in the first place if you want an honest opinion .

  8. Because sizsells,

What is one of the most valid and open sores the Bedlington Community have had to put up with for years.........

The abject lack of any leisure/sporting facilities. We have paid the running costs for other centers of these sorts for decades yet never had any of our own.

One recent attempt to get leisure/sporting/youth facilities down in that area highlighted the likely costs of a two way road down to the football pitch. It came out to around 3/4's of a million quid and was one reason the project died. (It was an extra cost over and above the capital cost of the project build costs.)

So if there is a decent road going in there and right down to the pitches it could open up a myriad of possibilities for enterprising community groups!

I do find it hard to believe at a time of active budget cut backs NCC would agree to an expenditure on this scale, but I will check it out.

So why has,nt ANYONE from the cooncil been shouting from the rooftops what there future plans are? That begs an answer.

I agree totaly about the lack of facilities we have in Bedlington as I have stated in other posts on here, you are even echoing my views about OUR money being spent elsewhere.

Oh and If you decide to "check it out" my statement with regards to the apparent notice..... I know I,m not the most frequent visitor to this site however I can assure you I would not post things on here that are lies and why would the council put up a notice on the QT ?

    check that out also.

And why not build something in Welfare park there has been sporting facilities going on in there for decades it could be used in conjunction with the football club.

Welfare Park has been crying out for regeneration for as long as I can remember , so why not spend the money there.

There was also talk that the community center was going to close because of "lack of funds" bit ironic don,t you think?

  9. There is a planning application to put in a road to Gallagher Park?

Really, I kind of hope this is true because the lack of a decent road into that area has stifled any sort of development down there for various groups trying to access it to try and build community facilities.

With all due respect its been adequate enough for years so why "WASTE" the money, even you cannot dissagree it could be used more wisley unless its as Merlin suggests.

  10. Look North reported last week [or pos the week before] that Durham, Cleveland, North Yorks and Tyneside Councils had learned a lesson from last winter and increased the ammount of salt they would need for their roads and ordered it earlier so that they would not be caught short again. They did not mention Northumberland County Council.

My daughters boyfriend works for N.C.C [the bit that used to be Wansbeck] Where was he this morning? .......Blyth with a tractor borrowing some salt because the Wansbeck area had none. The spine road had obviously not been treated as the traffic was queing from Moor Farm almost to Ashington. My daughter lives on the estate by the police stn. She could not turn right out of the estate this morning because the traffic was queing from the Monkey to Netto because the cars had difficulty getting up Glebe Bank.

This is bang out of order, the forecasters warned us of this weather last weekend. Maybe N.C.C. think that we in this corner of the county do not need to move arround as safely as those in the rest of the county. It could be that they dont grit the road purposley so that we slow down and take care of ourselves, or could the ammount of compensation that they would have to pay [for accidents that occured because of their negligence] would be far less than the cost of purchasing and applying extra salt?.

I sincerely hope that the latter is not the case. It seems that the whole of Bedlington was at a virtual standstill [ I live at the station] again at a time when people were trying to get to work and when kids were on their way to school all because of a little bit of snow.

Maybe they thought that if they left it alone it would look pretty when the lights get switched on tonight ..... after all, that would be as good as any excuse that that they could come up with.

OH I know where some of the money that should be used to make the roads SAFER :o

There is a planning application to put in a road to Gallagher Park? Mind you the one that is there has been adequate for god knows how long in fact its no worse than the paths leading to Humford woods via Atlee park so WHY? Or is this another FOLLY by the bliidy idiots in charge........ they want/need tha heeds bangin together.... btw the notice is tied to a post on the entrance to the park near the polis station and I dont think it was there last week as I walk the dogs along that road frequently.

  11. Well 3 weeks and its replaced. In fact there were 2 out and both have been done. There are panes out of shelters here which have been left for YEARS!!!!!! Don't even need to comment!

Thats the difference of having people "incharge" who can do their job and want to promote the right image for their town. It actually speaks VOLUMES.

  12. Small business's in this town and others are faced with astronomical overheads, what with greedy landlords and greedy cooncils, who seem to think just because you want to open a shop, they have the right to fleece you because you must have money to want to open a shop in the first place! Wrong! Many people just want to earn an honest crust and don't have aspirations of grandeur. Is it any wonder that many fail within the first year? I worked for somebody who had a shop on the front street, over a grand a month in rent plus electric plus insurance plus cooncil rates plus wages and had to deliver a fair price to the public, and a cooncil he had to fight because he had the audacity to want to put a sign up on the front of his shop, no such problems for Tesco there, eh! People need help to open a shop so that they can pay their bills and to be able to offer a fair price for their goods as well as being able to live! This help should not stop with new business's but should include existing business's also. If we want to shop in Bedlington for all our needs then we should be encouraging people to set up, not pricing them out of the market before they even start! But there again we've got Tesco Haven't WE so WHY BOTHER :dribble: :dribble:

All so very true and OUR cooncil and cooncilors can,t/won,t see the sense in encouraging small business to flourish "UP THE STREET".

I do think having a chain like Tescos is needed in the town, as they have in other towns around us but that should be expanded on look at Manor walks in Cramlington or the arcades in Morpeth and Blyth they all have flourishing small traders along side the big boys so it can/does work.

We just need an UNBIASED cooncil and cooncilors with a bit of economical forethought to help this town become the place it should be.

With the RIGHT people in charge we can get rid of our dormatory town tag.

  13. people always have ago at the big shops! if these small retailers actually did there job properly and gave the costumers value for money they would not be going out of business! think about it tesco's, asda, morrisons all started out as small retailers only they got it right! i like not having to think when i go shopping i like easy and value.

Monsta may I assume you don,t run your own business?

Because if you did you would,nt be saying such bolloks your clearly uninformed and self- opinionated.

Do you actually think someone who relies on there business paying there wages and POSSIBLY keeping a roof over there head is not going to try and give value for money.

YOUR clearly deluded and confrontational lol

  14. Sizsells, please make sure you're standing in the next election as you have my vote

Bliidy hell 1 vote only a few thousand more and i,m in lol........ Thank you for the comment Andy its only just how I feel and I,m sure I,m not alone, however I would,nt last 5 mins in the chambers because I,m not politicaly correct and I make no apologies for that it just gets right up my nose when I drive around Ashington, Morpeth, Blyth, Cramlington etc and see the facilities and shopping centers etc and I come "home" to Bedlington and it,s a crying shame what we here have to put up with here and have done for YEARS our "cooncilors" appear to "toe the line" when it comes to us getting anything and they should hold there heads in shame.

We in Bedlington have the makings of a lovley market town instead we have been left to go to wreck and ruin the front streets a disgrace our facilities are non existant the folks who trade independently deserve a medal as big as a bliddy frying pan, yes Tescos come as have Witherspoons and I hope they provide the catylist for others to follow and for those who "blame" the reccession well our reccession has gone on for DECADES not the last three years......... And for any BEDLINGTON cooncilors who may read this Bedlington is surrounded by chimneypots and chimneypots mean people ....... people who would gladly like there money/cooncil tax to stay in Bedlington and not used to enhance other towns.

Oh and btw Tescos and Witherspoons were not invited here by our local cooncilors just incase you try to claim the credit. I TOOK THE TROUBLE TO ASK them BOTH.

  18. The old guy in the picture is Diogenes who used to walk around his town at midday with a lantern. When asked what he was doing his reply was that he was looking for an honest man……
