  1. I thought it was all too rehearsed and neat and I don't think it was really a debate but more of a chance for all 3 leaders to give well-planned statements. I really hate 'sound-bite-speak!' And why bother with an audience at all if they aren't allowed to respond to anything? A bit of an anti-climax, I'm afraid.

WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree far to tame and so not genuine... I was frankly dissapointed but I think Slick Nick came over better than Cameron and that scottish guy with a breathing problem :o

  2. GREEN PARTY.

Just to show I,m not just having a "go" at "NewLabour" Their bloody printing is done in SUSSEX and the candidate is from Morpeth and they witter on about climate change and GREEN ISSUES but they ship all there leaflets around the country something not quite right there methinks

  3. Given his criminal convictions it seems appropriate he's photographed behind bars ;)

Let's hope when, sorry if he gets elected, he'll be a bit more visible around the constituency than Denis Murphy. In all the years I've watched debates in the House of Commons on TV and in person, I've never once been able to spot Denis Murphy on the benches. While I don't expect our MP to become a media celebrity as some politicians, when a significant number of people here think their MP is Ronnie Campbell, after 13 years in office you know you're doing something wrong.

Mmmmm Dennis Murphy  is,nt he one of the so called M.P who got entangled in the recent scandle who consequentally resigned because

"I,m a VICTIM of the system" that Dennis Murphy  but if one of us robbed the state we would be probably be sent to Acklington....... Thought I,d heard its name before

  4. From the previous interviews i`ve read from this man (arrested 7 times, fined for football hooliganism, fined £1000.00) maybe he could put that on his blank page.

Better still, he should just write T.H.U.G.

    Says it all really.

By all accounts he does have one admirer...............himself :lol::lol:

and more faces than a town hall clock :lol:

but he aint the brightest because hes STILL confusing NORTH TYNESIDE with this area WANSBECK I got some more rubbish shoved through my letterbox today he will insist on a "local" focus. see a true labour man through and through he really backs our local workers

    :lol::lol::lol:

  5. It's easy to adopt such a stance, it's common within an overwhelmingly safe seat such as Wansbeck, but by not voting, even if only out of protest, you are as complicit in the slide down the pan as any other. I'd go so far as to say it is this attitude which contributes heavily to the paucity of electors' voting power in our constituency. It's a self-defeating cycle.

Indeed you could wonder exactly how the current method of government can be described as an operating democracy. The party system does rather subvert the democratic principle, with a relatively small elite selecting candidates and deciding policy. The candidates are presented to us, and we vote for the party, not a person. I've joked amongst friends that Harold Shipman* could get elected in Wansbeck as long as he wore the right coloured rosette. I don't see it going away any time soon, because the people who can change the system are exactly those who have done very well out of the current arrangement, and who therefore are unlikely to see any problem with it.

    * I doubt if even being dead would present much of a bar to his selection

Another statement that I agree with... it seems to me that a lot of folks vote Labour because there familys have voted Labour for years they seem to have ignorred the fact that this party has changed it spots and is no longer the party for the working man/woman and the lies and deciet are tollerated at election time but they forget that AFTER the election and IF the unfortunate happens and they get

re-elected all they will do is stick up two fingers at them till the next time there blinkered votes are needed

  6. Greedy, dishonest, manipulating!*!@& that's why they're MPs    You also missed out LYING and CHEATING but you're getting there!

If you on the dole and are caught cheating you get jailed, if you are an MP and get caught cheating your expenses you get a slap on the wrist and told don't do it again or start wild rumours about swine flu to get the expenses off the front pages, clever are'nt they!

For what its worth Mr Merlin I agree with you 100%

  7. I'll be keepin to my guns and voting Labour, if the Conservativs get in power you can kiss good bye to child care (sure start) A massive cut in most benifits, public spending and a massive Tax increase.

No disrespect Stephen your against tax rises? I could,nt agree more however just you look back and see just how much we have been stealth taxed by this lot have a compare and see how much your wage is worth now compared to when this lot got in have a look see how much the cost of fuel has risen the list goes on and on oh and compare how much the average wage has increased to compensate for the massive increases in taxation stealth or not have a look at the state of the variose industries effected by this lot they have stood by and watched Corus close just as they stood and watched the car industry go and the pub trade just 3 examples yet they pour billions in to an unnecasary war which we wont win.... they will be no winners and they know it..... our borders are wide open to all and sundry ..........they estimate there are 3 million on the dole try 6 million because they fudge the figures fact........ and the working are footing the bill..... now I,m not saying Conservative , Liberals or any other party for that matter will be any different but for gods sake can they be any worse..... Brown bleats on about what Labour will do well I think they have done enough....... just you think on before you put your X on that ballot paper....... There is a saying better the devil you know than the devil you dont......... well Ive had enough of this devil so I will cast mine else where

  8. At the end of the day, no matter who you vote for it won`t help you in the slightest. They all give you the talk when they`re wanting your votes, they`ll promise this, that and the other, but they sharp change their tune once they`re elected.

They are all after one thing and that`s lining their own pockets.

That is EXACTLY what the present government did OH and by the way I dont remember having a vote when BLAIR stepped down and BROWN was forced upon the country... like it or not... see thats a LABOUR "DEMOCRACY" for you I think it was a DICTATORSHIP decision and it proper pissed me off........ it was totaly moraly wrong and the annoying thing about it ALL the bloody so called opposition said !*!@# all and I MEAN THE LOT OF THEM.... just like I have said many times on here there is not a LEADER among them..... they should have been shouting from the the bloody rafters........ thats my rant over for now

  9. Could it be the gable end of the funeral place at the Station ? ;) taken from the future car park for the never in 100 years rail link to the outer climes of the region well the toon if nothing else or at least Ashington

  10. You noticed that too then? The independent candidate is using a printer in Hexham. Not the brightest.

To be honest its a "thing" of mine after noticing it about a "FORMER" yes man lab councilor who made a mistake of knocking on my door  I have mentioned it on here a while ago....... after I pointed out to him that his election boast was

" LOCAL JOBS FOR LOCAL PEOPLE "

And could he explain why his office was in Blyth and why his printing was done yes you,ve guessed it NORTH TYNESIDE  well after he picked up his jaw from the floor he was obviously at sixes and sevens he did,nt actualy give me an answer other than walk away muttering.

He was then spotted half an hour later in the Windmill drinking with the locals in there he obviously had a dream of amalgamating the Station with Cowpen

  11. I know- I remember at West end first school when I was a bairn us getting asked what we wanted in Bedlington n we said swimming pool/leisure centre back then!! there are a lot of people who have lived here all their lives and they are sick of us having nowt, never mind those that haven't lived here long! we got no shops, no leisure facilities, no nowt - and the little bits we've had and cling on to are being taken away from us! Everyone who lives here has had enough by the looks of things, but who's going to do owt about it? our voices don't seem to count!

VOICES not at the min however VOTES do count :) its just who gets them  I got a leaflet shoved through my door from a Labour man who was lambasting the Liberals another half wit who seems to think there are NO PRINTERS in this constituancy........ yes proudly printed on the back printed in NORTH TYNESIDE what an idiot  yet he wants no job losses in this area nice to see him doing his bit to help us (not) I bet he even shops in Blyth  will that lot never learn

  12. So the community centre looks set to close? And the sport/leisure facilities looks like a "never gonna happen""? Are our MP's and local councillors going to do anything or are they happy to represent a Ghost Town? it's near election time - they want to get their fingers out asap!!!! Us residents have had enough of Bedders being neglected.

Debra I am a little older than you and this subject about US getting leisure facilities has been the subject of conversation of supposed councilors for decades, its one of those things that ALWAYS gets a mention coincidentally at voting times funny that

  13. Debrad65,its election time, they will promise you the earth to get elected! Then when they do they all go back on their election promises with the excuse ' We didn't realise things were so bad due to the previous government,so we can't give you what we promised!' Taxes up, in fact everything up due to the previous administration. We need a peoples party, like Labour is supposed to be. We need to take this country by the scruff of the neck, give it a good shake and start again before it is too late, if it is not already to late! The do gooders, nanny state activists and the pocket liners should be kicked into touch. The majority of the people of this country do not want or agree with policies of the major parties, we have to have a party who listens to the people, not one who tells the people what is best for the people, while meaning this is the best to line mine and my parties pockets! If this means revolution then so be it! For too long these people have ran roughshod over the decent people of this country, the time to stand and be counted is now. These people in power must not be allowed to drag this country deeper into the mire, we are at a cross roads, the choice is now ours!

Very well said and I agree totaly with your comments :D however can anyone see a LEADER among them all I can,t :(

  14. Oh, no! Not broken glass on 20 acres! That hallowed ground, that place dreams were enacted (jumpers for goals and banging-in a hat rick for the Toon), learning to ride a bike around the perimeter path, and of course the glorious shows on Picnic Day. Yep, there was dog !*!@# back in the day, but it was white; easy to see and great to score a goal with.

The feckless hoodies of today should be ashamed of themselves; I say if they want to smash bottles they should do it at Bedlington Station. ;)

Smash bottles down the Station NEVER its the epitomy of what is right in this country :P they even play football in the MAIN road its THAT safe :P even the Police drive by without batting an eyelid well they don,t actually drive by they are collecting there well deserved food from the variouse eateries that are scattered about like confette.

  15. The days when reality hit everyone between the eyes and people in jobs took pay cuts to save them. There are now a whole host of strikes planned at a time when we should all be pulling together to get the country through its self inflected financial crisis.

YES let all the VASTLY OVERPAID footballers bankers chairmen/women of multinationals council leaders etc etc and MP,S to have a rummage in their backpockets (excuse the pun) give some of their millions back to the country...

I wonder how much this strike action will cost B.A ? would,nt it not have more cost effective to have more constructive talks than try to " BULLY" these employees regardless of the apperant fact they are the most highly paid in the industry. its no different than how the miners were treat and the unions are falling for it again and it will end in tears. Time for a bit of reverse physocology methinks ;)

  16. not to mention the discarded materesses and building waste thrown all over the hair pin bend! or the dorty smack needles youngins find under hedges! and am sure a dogs turd is less likely to be picked up by a youngin!

OR even get your self across the 20 acers there must be 20/30 bottles smashed there after they were emptied of course and they have been there since sunday night / monday morning very considerate I,d say.

I mean who uses this fine facility dog walkers horse riders kids playing ball games fathers taking there children out for a walk probably Toffo himself but hey thats obviously not a problem I mean a few cuts here and there, visits to hospitals or vets if its animals .. sorry to bring this subject up again Toffo however I don,t visit this site every day for no other reason than I,m probably working and whilst your concerns are valid I do think they are very judgemental and tarred with the same brush attitude that EVERY DOG OWNER IS IRRISPONSIBLE and by looking at the wider picture that others have (see above) you will see that there is lots of problems out there for us ALL.

I think this problem goes way back its not just happened as I said in an earlier post... society / values / national pride.... some in society have no conscience and low moral standards and this has been left to happen but thats another story. :(

I don't have a problem with either horses or dogs, I have a problem with having to try my best not to stand in it, whilst out with my 7 year old, also the fact she can't play on grassed areas on our estate due to a few irresponsible owners, or the fact that we can't place rubbish in the 3 new bins that have appeared at the entrance to our estate becasue they are full of crap bags!

As for the "horse" comment, I do beleive that any being dropped from anything in a public place should be cleaned up regardless of what it came from.

why can't you use your garden as explained by Fourgee & to quote The Kennel Club:

I presume you don,t think your the ONLY person who has/had children ? been there done that etc etc I also said MORE bins should be provided for the appropriate use thereof and put in the correct place ie where folks walk dogs and responsible owners act responsibly and they are emptied regularily so they dont spill over .

I would like to know how you would propose to police the horse mess which litters the station and areas where folks ride out, on the grass too I hasten to add... other generations have had to put up with dog/ horse mess its not a new problem and btw I don,t condone lazy dog owners.... do you have dogs?

And with regards to your/and others comment about dog training I did say I pick there mess up and there mess is ALSO picked up from my garden where my dogs do "go".

Oh for a utopian world
