The shop you mentioned as Pops was once Billy Littles, I was born in Alfred Ave and remember toddling down to the shop with my Ration Coupens and a few pennies for what sweets were available, if any. The Pop everyone mentions was Pop Clouston, his father I think was called Jackie and was a friend of my Dads.
