June 5, 201115 yr Hi peeps, we are moving to the area in the next month for work and need advice on the area I'm viewing a property this weekend just near Victoria terrace near to roslin park. We are wondering if it's a good place for a young family and if stead lane school and the secondary is great for the kids and if poss bus or train links are a ok for Newcastle..We would appreciate any comments ta :-)
June 5, 201115 yr Yup, I think everyone here knows where Victoria is! Even the members posing from Oz! Tough call, as whatever anyone says about the tribe in XYZ will upset the tribe in ABC. Best to stick with things everyone has in common - like knocking the coonty cooncil, and rubbishing the estate agents! So, don't forget to share your buying experiences in The Bedlingtonshire Consumer forum.Anyway a warm welcome to the centre of the known universe, and keep asking the questions.
June 5, 201115 yr Author Cheers young un, I've had a few reports from work mates in the surrounding areas but wanted to get a bit of the word on the street from the locals with their fingers on the pulse I'm moving from Wales but born and bred English and can't wait for the visit, happy days :-)

(Anne Robinson got away with it , didn't she?). That area ok Sye, as GGG said it may not be everybody's cup of tea , but it is just what you make of it The schools are alright as far as I know, my kids go to the high school and we have no complaints. So, welcome to Bedlington, you have made a good choice it is a smashing place to live
June 7, 201115 yr its not all bad on victoria my other half lives there as does a family member i think its like every other place it is what you make it, as for schools i would try get any young children into bedlington station first school rather then steadlane its much better thats why my daughter is at nursery there and is staying there come september bus links are ok depending where your going and at what time of day as for trains well thats an on going matter. anyway welcome to bedlington hope the move goes well for you and your family xx

June 10, 201115 yr Hi Sye.w.This is my first post in here. I lived in Victoria Tce. for 25 years. It was great when we first moved there but has really gone downhill lately, that's why we sold up and moved to Stakeford. There are many flats in Victoria and sometimes it's hard to park outide your own home because everyone seems to own two or more cars now. My daughter went to The Oval first scool and loved it. From there she went to West Sleekburn Middle school (now closed) then Bedlington High school and never had problems at any of them.Bedlington itself is a lovely town (I would say that, seiing as I've spent nearly all my life here!) but has always suffered from lack of leisure activities. On the plus side, you can drive out of the town and, in 5 minutes, be either in the countryside or at the beach.
