John Dawson Local Historian

Featured Replies

Hi all Its John Dawson, local historian. Just a few mins of your time to take up and let you know that your local history website is up and running in a new format. All the groups archives will be put up over this coming year and we now have a Forum. You can make yourself a member instantly and get going on it.

The website is at

http://www.sixtownships.org.uk

We have began putting up "Our Colliery Village" archives from 1873. Amazing this. Have a look and see what your colliery village was like in 1873. Over 140 years ago, what do you think it was like ? There are a huge archive collection to go up, but add the site to your favourites and keep looking back. Why not stay in touch with the Forum ?

Any ideas on how the site could change a bit more ? Let us know. The site is your site and remember its Your Memories and Your Heritage. Keep it alive.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this

regards

Hi John,

I've very much enjoyed everything you've written on here. I've tried unsuccessfully to become a member of 'sixtownships'. Do I really need to make a website on Weebly in order to become a member or am I doing something wrong?
