John Fox (foxy) Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I think we need 3gee to help us here, It looks like that works wagon parked outside is being used to clear out Millne House and there is a co op vehicle (3 wheeler Scooter) parked outside. I think the co op took over that building after Mr Millne. C'mon 3gee help us.???? I'm guessing at 1970.
Keith Scantlebury Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I would guess that the second pic was taken in the 50's/60's foxy with the VW camper in the picture and the other cars in the picture, would gamble and say 50's but not sure. That looks like a Bedford Dormobile rather than a VW Adam.......... and please folks, Malcolm is just jealous of me getting a ride in those days (in a pram)

Pete Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Keith, I honestly wouldn't know what a cup of coffee in Bacci's tasted like. Just read what Symptoms has to say about the place! Definitely not a place for the tender gender of Netherton. No, give me Jimmy Millne's any day. He was a great host as well. He went from table to table talking to everybody. Sometimes he'd greet you in the doorway, escort you to a seat, carry your shopping bag and get your coffee from the counter. Made you feel like royalty.Symptoms, In answer to your query about the cafe at the station, that wasn't Bacci's. It was Moscardini's, or Moskies as it was better known. Can't remember the guy's first name. Pete would probably be able to tell you.Joe Moscadini own the cafe at the station he also owned the billiard hall near the pictures His wife and son (Bernard) ran the cafe

P.A.W.S. Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Keith,PRAM.....PRAM.... we used to dream about getting a pram. Mam used to drag us along behind her wrapped up in an old blanket... Blanket?! - You were lucky; Mam used to just drag us along by the hair!
P.A.W.S. Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 index.phpChurch on the left, then dentist's. Burdon House is behind the dentist's. It used to be a nursing home, built 1912, and my daughter lives there now. Why did they build it behind, or the dentist's in front? Very odd arrangement. The big building behind the memorial stands where Grenfells now is and the big place behind or attached to it can't be there any more either. Any more info/pics on these gratefully received.
Malcolm Robinson Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Cracking photo PAWS.... can I use it?
P.A.W.S. Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 It was posted by foxy on 13th March - and you commented on it! I just used the link for my query. But you're right - it's a cracking photo. Looking forward to Foxy's exhibition . . .
Malcolm Robinson Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 So I did............in that case FOXY....................and if anyone else has any old pics of Bedlington and the surrounding area and wouldn't mind letting us use them........all will be explained at the next Forum meeting on 10th Dec at the Salvation Army at 6.30pm.
Adam Hogg Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Shame the Church Hall is not a museum then we could put all of Foxy's photos in it.
