John White Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 My brother David was in the ATC in guide Post, he really enjoyed itBelated Happy Birthday Micky. As Vic has said the ATC was in Ashington. If your brother was in a cadet thing in Guide Post it would probably have been the Army Cadets. As I was in the late sixties early, seventies. The leader was John Quinn (Capt.)I had to quit when my hair got too long to hide under my beret. If only I still had that problem!Bedies. The home of the Army Cadets is on Morpeth Road estate. Still going I believe.Behind & a little left of the war memorial. Directly opposite the Morpeth Road garage. Google map Queens Head Guide Post & trundle up the road a bit. It`s the white roofed hut on the right. In my day it was very popular with the cadets Dads: the bar was open before 12 on a Sunday morning!
bediesathome Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 i can remember john quinn being inthe army cadets at scotland gate i was in at the same time . i also knew ronnie tillberry who was some sort of a officer the hall was in the same grounds as the football pitch .
