paul mann Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Can anybody remember when bread and dripping with salt was a health food?
Vic Patterson Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) Certainly can, pork dripping, it was better than a slice of dip in the bacon grease! or fried bread! Edited December 6, 2012 by Vic Patterson
tonyg Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Roast Beef dripping was put in enamel mug and later spread on bread lovely
Canny lass Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Beef for me! And didn't you just love the 'brown bits' that got caught up in the dripping and that lovely layer of jelly that collected under the dripping when it got cold.
Vic Patterson Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 We used to ask the butcher (George Shy's (sp)) in Blyth market square to make sure there was some of the brown bits in the beef lard! he made great pork sarnies!
Brian Cross Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Can anyone imagine the kids of to-day eating any sort of dripping on bread ........cause i can't

keith lockey Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) No wonder your redecorating Keith, eating the beans much have stripped the paint off the walls.Yeah, I decided to go for the pebble-dash ceiling effect. I Had to get the right angle and trajectory for that one though. But getting back on theme the one thing I remember after bread and dripping on Sunday was my granny baking tarts and chocolate cakes and me an my bro would lick the batter - he would get the spoon one week and I would get the bowl, then vice versa.PS. No more B&D - I'm veggie. Edited December 8, 2012 by keith lockey
