Amazing what we collect over a life time.

Photos we document on this site but I guess we have collected so much more.

Underground, overground bits of our own history.

In our wash house we have the first gravestone for my father circa 1985

The council grass cutter smashed it and within minutes neighbours of the church had told my mother.

With me it was cards; Thunderbirds, Batman & Robin, American Civil War; WWII, and these lot below, the Tarzan collection. I had this complete set.

From the Second Hand Shop in Blyth, somewhere on Regent Street, we would swap any old books or comics they would take for Mad magazines - Alfred E. Neuman -

[Symptoms]

Collecting birds' eggs was really popular when I was a lad but thankfully I was never interested in doing it.  Cigarette cards (all the old guys in the extended family smoked so there were lots available to me) and stamps ... both were great collections but was lost during one of my parent's house moves;  goodness knows what they'd be worth today.

Me and my brother, especially my brother, had an extensive collection of Subbutteo teams, etc. You should see the price they are asking for them on ebay - some were in the hundreds of pounds, especially in Japan.
