Brian Cross Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) To-day is Anzac day i didn't make the dawn service but one of my sons did. They went with songs to the battle, they were young.Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning,We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;They sleep beyond England's foam Edited April 24, 2014 by Brian Cross
Vic Patterson Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 So important we don't forget Brian, yet I believe in some countries they are trying to take it out of their history books. The more I see the numbers, dead and injured, from all sides, the more it needs to be remembered, for every casualty how many family members were affected? Pity the days are gone when the instigators rode out front instead of hiding behind some desk!
Malcolm Robinson Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Pity the days are gone when the instigators rode out front instead of hiding behind some desk! Amen to that Vic!
