Malcolm Robinson Posted July 15, 2014 Report Posted July 15, 2014 Go to Facebook and 'like' the new Bedlington in Bloom page so we can show the judges how much support there is for this in our Town!
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 fb liked.also found this site - http://www.westbedlington.org.uk/?page_id=793 but did not find a link on it to the fb site!
John Fox (foxy) Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Here's a sample of the good work done by the volunteers And if any of the ex pats fancy coming home for a better look, you'll have to call in here for a Pasty
Canny lass Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 They look absolutely fabulous (Don Lynn's pasties) and the hanging baskets aren't bad either! Hats off to whoever planted them. wish I could get mine to look that good.
Adam Hogg Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 This is one of the people who did plant them Canny Lass, Don't have a clue who the strange bloke is, Malcolm may have an idea.
Maggie/915 Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Adam there are some fine flower displays at a house more or less opposite Malcolm. The cemetery entrance looks very colourful.Top marks to all concerned .
Symptoms Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 But what about that lush growth on Mal's mush ... obviously well fed with Babybio*. *for any non-gardeners out there Babybio is proprietary plant grub and not something that Operation Yewtree would be interested in.
Maggie/915 Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 The town looks very colourful.Well done , a brilliant job.
Brett Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 Pictures from the Bedlington in Bloom Facebook page
Canny lass Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Beautiful! Am I right in thinking you are using border lobelia instead of hanging lobelia in those baskets? It's very effective.
Malcolm Robinson Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Canny lass, now if you ask on the facebook page you might get the answer! BTW, We got Highly Commended last night. Sorry I can't post the pictures up here until I get rid of this dammed virus!
Malcolm Robinson Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Also BTW where other towns get professional horticulturists in to do their hanging baskets and tubs we did the whole lot ourselves! Well with a lot of help from friends and press ganged 'volunteers'!
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 You get a bonus Point from me for that! https://www.facebook.com/bedlingtoninbloom?fref=ts
Vic Patterson Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Well done, great to see all that effort recognised! So sad to see there are a few brainless louts who just don't get it! I expect it is the same ones destroying the picnic tables, once identified they should be named and shamed (if that is possible!) http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/news/blooming-marvellous-1-6743340?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Brett Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Thumbs Up In Bloom.jpghttps://www.facebook.com/bedlingtoninbloom?fref=tsInBloom.jpgI do hope you have liked the Bedlington.co.uk page on Facebook Eggy
Canny lass Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 What a fantastic job you've done!! Nice to see so very many youngsters involved. That's the way to tackle destructive behaviour - encourage participation and create pride in their Town. They'll be much less likely to destroy something they've created themselves, or allow anyybody else to do so. They'll be so proud in years to come when they pass those trees, maybe even pointing them out to their own Children, and know that they had a hand in it. Well done everybody.
Brett Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Popped into tesco earlier for the missus to tell me that a lady (if that term is even appropriate) I'm a bright neon pink dress had walked across the road to the social club and presented some flowers from one of the boxes to her friend. I'm sure her friend appreciated the sentiment but failed to realise how much of a Richard her mate was.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I do hope you have liked the Bedlington.co.uk page on Facebook Eggy Old sayings still ring true :-
