August 1, 201411 yr Does.anybody remember it? It used to be next to the grammar school it had some scary rides thereAs I recall . As youngsters we used to call them the high flyer, low flyer,tea pot lid. Hobby horse,& of coarse the swings it really was a nice park the council sold the land to the high school I think,they called it progress Mmm...
August 1, 201411 yr Certainly can, but no family photos of the park. Remember all the rides.Was there also one called the 'Lollipop'?Pictures of similar rides found on the www:-Am I right in saying that in the 50s-60s there was also a Bowling Green, that we, as kids, weren't allowed to use.

August 1, 201411 yr I remember it well, Tony. Me and Jimmy Hunter went on the High Flyer and the challenge was to get high enough to see over to Blyth.Was there a 'crab' apple tree nearby? I remember being ill after eating some!
