threegee
Another members-only feature. More on the way! http://www.bedlington.co.uk/live.html Please note that there is no recording available so it is pointless asking for "replays", "tapes", etc. - such data does not exist! As Bedlington Live! is a members-only feature the tab will not appear on your main menu until after you've logged in. It is one of the features casual site visitors are not made aware of. Technical Note We don't currently support Microsoft Internet Explorer for streaming (there's no proprietary .wmv support). Windows users who are using IE should seriously consider downloading Firefox (or a similar open-source browser) for their own peace of mind - it's free! Bedlington Live! also works in both the standard Android bowser and the Android Chrome one, if your smartphone and mobile data connection are fast enough. Although currently untested we'd guess that it works with pure Google Chrome devices too. If you've got Apple or proprietary Microsoft hardware (such as a Windows Phone or Windows RT tablet) some other members will surely appreciate a report as to what works for you, and what doesn't. If there is enough demand we could be persuaded to find time to address clearly reported compatibility problems.

Steve
Done extremely well Impressed that no need to install plugins etc etc... be interested in how this is working, HTML5? open source or? Very well done
Andy Millne
At the moment it uses mjpeg straight from the camera so the number of simultaneous connections will be limited. We're getting ready for a full site upgrade in the next few months with complete html5 support. At that point I'll probably look at encoding in some other formats and hand off the individual connections to another machine.
Andy Millne
At the moment it uses mjpeg straight from the camera. Actually this isn't totally true. There is some intermediate processing to add the watermark.

Unfortunately my cams use proprietoary sw and I've had no joy pulling mjpeg from em with anything but their own software Working extremely well for mjpeg. Many years ago I used to stream using the vp6 protocol (was up to vp8 last time I looked).. Worked very well, but had to install codec to view in browser. btw, java etc disabled on here and still your stream shows up excellent. Agree with others, looks extremely busy up there! Nicely done, a welcome addition to the site.

Symptoms
GCHQ and the NSA will be interested, perhaps even NCC so they can send traffic wardens bearing tickets. Anyway, I think it's great and look forward to many more installations. All we exiles have had up to now was (out of date) Google mapping stuff. Just seen (7.54pm) a couple pushing a pram ... and the bloke's got a mask on and he's looking at the camera. Alan Edgar (Eggy1948)
Just have a quick peak almost every day, or night and I know I should grow up but when a person walks by the camera I just want to shout 'HOI'. Is it only when you use a zoom & focus facility that you require a special licence for this type of 'surveillance' camera?
