Jonny Boyle has been making and playing music for the last twenty years. A proficient musician, Jonny plays guitar, bass and bit of drums... but his voice is something really special! Jonny has just finished recording and producing his latest album of self penned songs...'Radio' is available Now! This new record has been tipped as his finest effort yet, bringing together Jonnys rock and soul influences in one smooth and fresh sound.

  4. Happy birthday Merc. Glad to hear the moggie is on the mend.
  5. One thing I am concerned with is the upkeep of the cut between the Market Tavern and the old Johnson's shoe shop (Now Fireplaces). To draw people through it needs to be inviting. Hopefully a positive development here will help raise the standards of surrounding areas.
  6. I also like it. I think it's a good move for the town and a good mix of uses so as not to bet everything on one sector. It seems like some of the units could quite easily change use if required.
  7. Outline Plans for the Bedlington town centre re-development have been registered with the planning department at Northumberland County Council. Around 250 car parking spaces located across the site, in between the foodstore pub/restaurant and pedestrian boulevard A co-ordinated scheme of hard and soft landscaping. 10. Following the submission of a Planning permission application for the Bedlington town centre re-development, residents are being asked to vote on a new name for the area. A pre-determined list gives the voter four choices; "The Forge", "Piper's Place", "The Cross" or "Market Square". The names are said to have been chosen taking into account the character and history of the area, looking to the future and with the aim of providing a strong and appealing name for occupiers and customers. The investinbedlington.co.uk website states that the aim of the development is to "create a vibrant new town centre for Bedlington, but also contribute to the economic growth of the town, by creating 180 permanent new jobs, 33 construction jobs, and injecting at least £1m into the local economy." Votes can be cast at http://www.investinginbedlington.co.uk/Vote A link to the planning application itself will be posted here once available.
  11. #2 Read/Unread Content When you are logged in, the website will automatically keep track of read and unread content and display it to you in different ways depending on the status. Links to content that you have not read will show with bold titles and include an unread marker like so... The first topic here is unread and the second is read. Clicking/tapping the circle on the left of the title will take you to the first unread post so you can pick up the conversation from where you left off. Clicking the title will take you to the first post in the topic in case you need to refresh your memory. When viewing the topic a blue horizontal marker will indicate where the old read content finishes and the unread content starts. If the blue circle is replaced by a star it also means you have previously posted in the topic. In the example below I have posted in both topics but the bold title and highlighted star indicate there is unread content. You can see an overview of all of your unread content using the filters on the home page...

Bedlington’s first arts festival will bring together local talent and some of the finest regional artists in an event celebrating arts, crafts and music. The inaugural festival is inspired by the history of Bedlington itself is open Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February from 10am - 4pm. The weekend will include exhibits, activities for children under 5 with puppets and music, music to enjoy with the centre’s Ukulele group and choir performing, and the café will be open for refreshments. The project has been created by the Bedlington Creatives group and project managed by Blyth based textile artist Sheila Biggs. Creative Producer Andrea MacDonald will curate the exhibition. Sheila said, 'It's been an exciting year-long project for the Bedlington Creatives, who are all local residents. We have been delving into the history of Bedlington. Wildlife and old photographs have been an inspiration for local artist Yvette Hawkins for some printing work and a collage. We then welcomed artist Stevie Ronnie and the group enjoyed paper folding and origami and they also visited the local market and bought items to upcycle. Having had fun over the Summer with some family craft sessions and then a Teddy Bear's Picnic, we then welcomed animator and filmmaker Sheryl Jenkins into the centre for some animation workshops. Local artist and Creative Connector with bait Jane Sutcliffe has attended every session to support the artists and has led some of her own sessions, enjoying the experience.' Bedlington Community Centre secured a funding award from Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts, thanks to a partnership with bait. The grants for the arts support has enabled the group to sustain arts activity in the centre. Full details and photographs of what the group have been up to over the past year can be viewed on their website: http://www.bedlingtoncommunitycentre.co.uk/bedlington-creatives

Over the last thirty years these guys have been part of some of the best known acts on the North East band circuit. Following earlier success with French Curves, Ultimate Bowie Band and Trakk, they reformed in 2012 as Call Off The Search to embark on a new, more personal project and play some of their favourite music - past and present - while still having some fun along the way. Their years of experience and skilled musicianship is clearly in evidence during live performances and always a pleasure to hear. http://www.calloffthesearch.net/
