Sorry to disappoint you Neil but these charges are to apply to every supermarket in the country!
Maybe not every one

Sadly missed it GGGG anywhere else I might see it?
It's on the BBC iPlayer mate, whole match.
-
Watching Ipswich v Newcastle, Match of the Day. BBC have done a great job of the intro, some of Bobby Robson's great moments in football, very moving.

There is talk about maybe a mobile ice rink for a time.......
Good idea.....yes/no?
I think that will be a popular suggestion, although if it's anything like the first incarnation of the previous market place regeneration we may get that from mother nature for free.
-
did I not say that?

Do you want to see parking charges introduced in Bedlington?
-
Moods?
-
Masonic Hall next to the Old Police Station?
-
Yes, naturally the birthplace of the modern railways should be a feature! I recently heard that the first letter sent via penny post was sent from Bedlington as well.
Where is the banner going to be displayed?

Poll added to the discussion.

Elliotts Garage?
-
Market Place Club?

Its as good as the official site for the town. it just don't have the 'title'.
or the compromises that come with the title.

But, what it all boils down too, is, someones name is above the door, and if something is done or said that s/he or his/her representatives (moderators) disagrees with, it will be removed.
Nope, personal opinions however radical or contrary to the views ofthe moderators themselves are left intact. Only posts that fall foul ofthe site rules for abusive, hateful, obscene or illegal content are removed.
The very fact this thread remains is proof that "just about" anything goes, and that time will be taken to review things.
I'm curious as to exactly what was removed now
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it
I presume this is from an aggrieved poster's perspective? Don't the mods give a reason as to a posts removal?
Not usually no, on the rare occasion a post is removed it is only because of the reasons I have just mentioned. There is a facility for moderators to add comment to edited posts but there is usually no reason to edit posts if they don't fall foul of the rules. Because of it's nature as a community site, like Mr Darn says: "Just about anything goes".

GGGG,
Might be worth doing a poll to elicit something we can all get behind for the new Market Place? Maybe even sending it to every contact in the membership list? With enough backing it should have enough critical mass to be presented to at least the new Town Council for consideration.
Great idea. It's about time we put together another "Monthly" newsletter.

An outdoor movie screen would be pretty good but perhaps a little unrealistic.I hope the lightings up to scratch.

the writer talks of building a Chapel (he was a member of the very new Free Church of Scotland) - where was it, or is it?
I'm trying to get in touch with David Cowans of the Local History Society so if I manage to find him I'll put that question to him. I'm hoping that maybe somebody from the history society would be interested in running the history hollow forum.

Now that the market place development is nearing completion what would you like to see the space used for?

Aint that the heartlands cottages? On the main road from the town center to the golf course, right hand side...
I would have to agree.

Parking Charges
in Talk of the Town
Posted
Reading between the lines this is a tax on the supermarket per parking space. I very much doubt supermarkets will introduce direct charging as it would involve extra expense in converting existing car parks and installing meters/barriers. If it did come into force I'd expect it to end up on your shopping bill through increased product prices.
