Wasn't there a large road traffic accident on the Spine Road?
Not sure about that I just know it was circling a very specific area at the far east end of the front street. I would say it was too far west for the spine road but I suppose if someone had left the scene of the accident and headed this way then it could have been.

Other... Amiga 500

Yeah I was watching things last night as well. I assume it has something to do with the recent car break-ins over the last couple of days. Apparently 16 in one night so I guess they are on high alert.

Another thing, I've noticed that in order to place an ad you have to provide either your phone number or your email address and this applies to all sections. Not a problem for selling stuff I suppose...
But I can't imagine many single people, especially single women or mothers wanting to give out their name, contact number and email address to the public (and nor would I want them too really).
Is there any way of changing this so that it can all be done through the PM system or in a way in which provides anonymity?
The phone number is optional and email addresses are not revealed unless you choose to reply to buyers via email.
I will make this clearer on the listing form.

Not too sure about the Dating bit though... it's the first thing you see on the page and it just seems tacky - would anyone use it?
Not sure really, anybody any thoughts?
I can and will add to and re-order the categories as the classifieds section develops.

So a basic listing will be free but extra images ordurations will cost money?
Nope totally free full stop!! Limit of 4 images but this may be increased in the future.
Charging was something that was very briefly considered but decided against. I'll update the post above to avoid confusion.

OK folks, the Classified Ads section is now up and running. Same idea as the original BedBay forums section...
No shipping charges; no listing fees; no final value fees; no BS from P**P**; no wasted time parcelling things up; instant cash in your hand. Your listing stays active as long as YOU want.
So what are you waiting for? get listing now - you can always re-edit the details or add to them later.

I had one letter that had been damaged/opened and had been resealed with a Royal Mail apology attached but no real problems other than that.
I did go through a bad patch with City Link though earlier this year. They failed to attempt delivery several times and each time they claimed a card had been left. Each time I went to the depot to collect there was a huge queue of people with similar complaints.
Have you entered a formal complaint? http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=69800720&mediaId=84400738

We now have a dedicated classified ads section on the site to replace the BedBay forums.
Registration is currently not required to post an ad but this will be changing shortly.
I have temorarily disabled new posts in the BedBay forums but soon will be removing them entirely.

Nice find John thanks for pointing that out. Bedlington.co.uk scores a 76

For some obscure reason McD's are thin on the ground in Italia. I've sniffed the spectrum at the odd one or two and there's no trace of WiFi, free or not!
Free wi-fi in at least one McDonalds in Rome.

I heard Jamie so may not be the same one. There's a Joseph from South Shields just been on wearing a checky red shirt.

Should get this one...

w.shootBall();
thugs.makeTrouble();
w.fight(thugs);
Mum.getScared();

After your suggestion I've started running a facebook ad (using £250 worth of voucher codes found on the net) at 2p a click, targetted at people within 25 miles of Cramlington, Morpeth and Ashington. I can't target Bedlington directly due to it beingoverlooked again. I've emailed the Facebook devs to get them to add us
By all means feel free to create a group if you think it will help but I'm not sure how effective facebook groups are for promotion personally. Unless I'm missing something, a facebook group would essentially be a duplication of what we have here with less functionality. If you look at the majority of groups on facebook they are groups of people who are already friends from other avenues. The group is created, there is a bit of chat, and then it dies off.
Visitor numbers have been growing steadily over the last few months, once we get some flyers out (expecting them Monday) and I contact local businesses and organisations things should build even faster still.
You'll also be pleased to hear the County Council's Locality Development Officer for Bedlington has taken the initiative and accepted our offer of an editorial account.

Rumours are rife suggesting a fellow Bedlingtonian is to appear in one of the regional X-Factor shows. I guess that gives me a legitimate reason (excuse at least) to watch it

I would say a composer is also a musician

Awful to hear Bedlington as a run down town
But i suppose they have a point..unfortunately.
I have to disagree. Generally speaking I wouldn't say the town is run down at all, dejected and neglected? ...maybe.
Yes there are certain parts that need attention but that is true of any town and I've seen a lot worse.
Bedlington's problems are not physical they are psychological.

Vimeo wins.
Apologies for the borders, my video editing applications are on the other machine so had to use Windows Movie Maker .
Small correction: Population of Bedlington is approximately 16,400 at last census NOT 10,000.

Just waiting for Vimeo and Youtube to process it. Will post as soon as one of them has finished.

You wanna watch, because i was gonna upload it a while back but then i read somewhere that i`d be breaking some law by doing it, something about having permission to do it.. Can`t remember where i read it like.
Fair use

Got it. I'll convert and upload shortly.

Apparently we're expecting the Tour of Britain Cycle race to pass through Bedlington once again this year on the 13th of next month.
