  1. what the planning went through in july! plus av seen people there taking measurements with there surveying equipment. it shouldn't be much longer before they get the demo team in and crack on with the new ganny home!

As far as I am aware no plans have been submitted beyond outline planning permission which was given in late June. I don't think building would be possible without a detailed application. I would imagine that is what the surveyors were there for.

  2. You don't need planning permission to knock a building down. Exceptions are if it's listed - which it won't be.

I wasn't suggesting you did but I'd think the "old folks" would need a roof over their heads and wouldn't be too happy about sleeping on a pile of rubble or in a garden shed. :P

  3. Any body know when the Terrier is being knocked down and turned into a old folks home?

I suspect this is the usual rumour that surfaces with newly vacated premises similar to the recurring Wetherspoons one?

There doesn't appear to be anything on the planning application register to suggest anything other than a rumour at this time.

  4. Despite some technical problems with the projection equipment it really was a pleasure to hear Evan talking tonight on the history of Bedlingtonshire. If you missed it, look out for future talks as he really is a fantastically entertaining story teller.

  5. You are a truly dedicated administrator .........

I dropped a flyer in at the houses at Humford Woods the other day and the guy was absolutely flabbergasted I'd walked down there just to deliver a leaflet. He even offered to give me a lift back up.

Just making sure everybody gets one :)

  6. Just got in from putting out some bedlington.co.uk flyers and I'm now totally soaked through and fed up. This Chinchilla's peperroni special is doing a good job of cheering me up though :)

  7. So I believe, the odds increase of finding the £100 if you switch... from 1/3 to 1/2... the 1p will be your reward if you switch from choosing a £100 cup, but there is only a 1/3 chance of that happening... if you have chosen the 1p as your first choice, there will still be a £100 when you switch, 1/2 chance...

I get confused working out the odds on deal or no deal mind...

Well on theory the chances on deal or no deal should be 1 in however many boxes there are (I don't remember how many)

    BUT....

does the banker know what's in the boxes? It is never actually stated to my knowledge that the banker doesn't know. I know the boxes are sealed but is that just for the benefit of the contestants and the host. Yes there is also the spiel that boxes are chosen at random by the contestants but, if the banker is aware what's in them, and his bank balance is a little low he may only give the option to switch if the lower value is in the contestants chosen box. Another way to ensure that the game is a little more controlled than we first assume?
