  1. I'm not sure that is entirely true. Terrorists and new recruits seem to be popping back and forth over the EU's borders like fully paid up tourists. This isn't surprising when Mrs Merkel has private contractors trying to stem the flow. They ask where are you from and why do you want entry to the EU; the expected answers being from Syria, and I'm a refugee! And, that seems to be it! Reportedly (by the BBC no less) the contracted interrogators only speak text book languages, and don't recognise or understand regional accents. As for needing our help... well... 80% aren't even from Syria, or other zones of unrest, and the only Syrian "refugee" I saw being asked was disarmingly honest. He said, no my family isn't under threat, it's simply that life has become miserable and we don't see it improving any time soon. The real question is how many refugees the oil-rich Arab countries taking, and it seems the answer to that is zero! You don't have to use much imagination to predict their justification: we refuse to import any more terrorism than we already have! BTW the petition doesn't say refugees, it says immigration. Exactly how those two entirely distinct concepts have come to be so comprehensively conflated is one of those wonders of bleeding-heart liberal left doublethink! The German national guilt complex undoubtedly plays a large role in this conflation.
  2. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/107516 An amazing 438,000 signatures with 840 signatures from Wansbeck, and 1000 from Blyth Valley so far.
  3. Could it be that "our" Wolfgang isn't actually talking about Europe's steel industry but has in mind non-German steel capacity? After all Germany is still building new dirty-coal power stations like there's going to be a real use for that cheaper electricity. This side of the North Sea our Ed Wind-mil-iband has ensured that out electricity costs have about doubled, so we are the natural candidate to take the economic pain. But, then, isn't this what EU solidarity is all about brother? I mean Germany gets to burn all the solid, and our own politicos and trades unionists obligingly talk all the hot air-ity!
  4. How do you and Len square that with your support for the job-destroying, depress-wages, EU Tony?
  5. ...and the revolution is not just in military aviation. Disruptive technology like we've never seen the likes of over the next few decades and starting much sooner than most people think. Many millions of workers will be displaced in the UK alone, and often from jobs which have been considered safe from 'dumb' automation. It will hit the second and third world harder than most, because the ready availability of really low cost labour will no longer get you out of economic trouble. But, if you think that following a profession will isolate you from this, then think again; I've heard academic opinion that the legal profession is set for a huge shake out, as the majority of what they do can be far better addressed by expert systems at vastly lower cost. I can't say I find that particular one an appalling vista. Consider that we could all be visiting the supermarket for free and disinterested legal advice - from all the shelf stackers with legal degrees!
  6. Yeah, why didn't we send in the Army to arrest him, kill a few of our lads, slaughter a few thousand innocent civilians, and rack up another billion we haven't got in military expenditure? If it were to help Mr Corbyn in his ongoing internal battle with his conscience it would surely have been worth it! I think the real problem with loony lefties like Jeremy is that they refuse to acknowledge that other people suffer similar conflicts and counter-feelings but resolve them logically as best they can, and without involving the rest of the world in their dilemmas. LLs are the only people that have ideals, and everyone who just gets on with things as best they can are morally inferior - often evil! Well... carry on indulging yourself JC, because the mass of the electorate doesn't have the time for such luxury (or you!).
  7. "It" being the genuine concern of native Brits (including assimilated ones) that they are rapidly becoming strangers in their own country? How many immigrants are you accommodating Sym? If the answer is none then you don't need to go to Calais to collect a car load; just pop down to Longford near Heathrow, and fill your car to help out the besieged villagers. We'll then have an appeal on here to help you feed them.
  8. Difficult to see how our power crisis and creeping islamisation can coexist in the same thread, except that it's the same traitorous political elites that have created the problem. Maybe you should have offered that we should only permit more hideous out of character mosques on our landscape if the islamists construct a slightly more in-character power plant in the back lot? They could hardly object as a fair part of our power crisis is directly attributable to uncontrolled mass immigration and the Muslim birth rate! Oops - the snag here is that if it gets round to "burn-the-infidels" time (you'll probably say when), there'll be the means readily at hand! http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm
  9. It's easy, just buy a dirty 3MW diesel generator and join the club. You'll then be able to hold the public to ransom for up to £2,500 per MW/h (normal rate for electricity circa £60 per MW/h). Yes, that's the top price the National grid was paying last Wednesday when the wind stopped blowing. This bonanza is set to get even more lucrative as our population booms, and our coal fired capacity is chopped even further. How did we get to this lunatic state of affairs? Well idiot Ed (Miliband) had a mega hand in it, and the Cameron's dithering PC Tory party have walked right in to it (for a long time ably assisted by the loony LDs). But it's OK, relief is at hand - the Chinese are going to build us a nuclear plant providing we contract to pay extortionate prices for the rest of our lives (and the lives of our children). Never mind that this will handicap what's left of our industry and destroy traditional jobs (sorry about our former steel industry chaps, we'll get over it, somehow!), because we can also rely on the Chinese to send us all the things we need at insanely low prices. How can the Chinese do this (produce things we invented far cheaper than we can)? Simples: they have cheap energy. They are building coal-fired power stations and putting them on line at a mind boggling rate. At least that's what we understood until the other day, but somehow they forgot to tell us that they're now burning 17% more coal than our "climate change scientists" factored into their dreams. That's more than the entire burn of Germany, and makes the CO2 emission calculations an utter joke. Germany is burning more dirty coal than ever too, because their nutty Green lobby has decreed the shutting down of good, well engineered, and safe nuclear plants. Now add into this farce the simple fact that all this self-immolation is based of pseudo-science which is demonstrably false, and you've built a scenario that is going into the history books and will echo down the ages as the biggest delusion that otherwise sane people ever indulged in. Flat-Earthers, Earth-at-the-centre-of-the-Universers, Ground Nuts, Tulipmania... naah, those were just warm-up acts! Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions by Charles Mackay should be compulsory reading for all politicos.
  10. EU's a criminal failure says Nick Ferrari I'm not going to repeat the details of this horrific incident, and have nothing to add to Nick Ferrari's conclusion (below). Although my own disgust extends to the whole cohort of Cameron's yes men, who for their own advancement are prepared to engage in his cynical and calculated campaign of fear, uncertainty and doubt. Nothing new in that of course, and - though not a religious person - Genesis 25:29 seems to have it about covered!
  11. GLOBAL COOLING: Decade long ice age predicted as sun 'hibernates' Why should we be inclined to believe this group of scientists rather than the ruling "warmist lobby"? Well, for a start, they are unlikely to be funded by the central heating and double glazing industries, and they aren't screaming imminent doom and disaster, or pushing for international jollies in exotic climbs (just yet). It's also par for the course to discover our politicos have all along been doing precisely the wrong thing, and throwing away vast sums of British tax payers money on crazy "ground nut" schemes. I'm looking at you Ed Miliband! Which political party will be the first to have the courage to advocate repealing the insane and completely unaffordable Climate Change Act 2008? Does the Thames outside their windows have to freeze over before they will admit to being victims of mass delusion?
  12. A news story that won't be on the PCBBC any time soon: NASA reveals that Antarctica is actually gaining more ice than it is losing So, the man with the means to see the whole picture confirms (if more confirmation were really necessary) that the Antarctic is net putting on ice not losing it! That would make those evil, incredibly stupid, "climate change deniers" right all along. How damn inconvenient if you've built a career (or a political party) on selling pseudo-science to the gullible! Of course absolutely no one denies that climate changes, that's what climate has always done. But, our elites are in a position to control the language, so it's relatively easy for them to substitute climate change for global warming and conveniently drop the word anthropomorphic in process (after all what would the plebs make of such a big word?). Enough people really really want the "climate change" pseudo science to be a reality, so, rather than admit to real scientific evidence, the mantra will continue morphing into another insanely costly attempt to control some other uncontrollable. The bleedingly obvious anthropomorphic factors in the environment (like the horrendous plastic pollution) we can do something about, without vast effort or expense, will continue to be ignored. When I see a group of Greens picking plastic out of hedgerows or off the beaches I will consider voting for them.

There was an even better TV service in Bedlington! From here it looks like a local problem in Bedlington as the mini-server there is still watermarking the feed. My phone says Fourgee only just got back from wherever, so when he's had a rest I will start nagging him.
  16. Being in the EU is good for UK jobs; look how it has saved the British Steel Industry - not! Steel is now rapidly going the same route as our former fishing industry. http://johnredwoodsdiary.com/2015/10/18/save-our-steel/ Outside the EU a British Government would be free to do whatever is needed to preserve strategic industries such as steel. Inside the EU it is practically powerless. Redwood is suggesting (1) we simply break the EU rules, (2) that we try to skirt them, and that (3) we beg. There's a far simpler solution, and it has no downside whatsoever (unless you're a trough-guzzling politico)!

  17. Not quite that simple Moe. The reason most people listened to Joyce and other German broadcasters (Lord Haw Haw) was that he provided information the UK government was covering up. It took a good while before the wartime government worked out that honesty (with a bit of patriotic spin) was the best policy. The present day BBC, in their PC stupor, has come very near to unlearning that simple lesson!
  18. Umm.. it's raining and there's a sea of brollys! Anyways thanks for that keen observation Moe as I'm now certain that the RT TV coverage I saw must have been faked too. But, there's plenty of other video of Mutti being booed all over the place if you care to look. Doesn't Volks Verraterin mean something like Traitor to the People? Anyway, obviously more neo-nazi scum there, so ignore. Thing is this has obviously got to her, because she's completely changed her stance - again! http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/598924f0-555d-11e5-9846-de406ccb37f2.html#axzz3ogAxbc17. So, almost within days of unconditionally welcoming the World and its extended family, she's telling huge numbers of immigrants that they "must leave Germany". And, in a historical context, just a few short years back she was declaring that "German multiculturalism has 'utterly failed'". Though her recent open invite would only be applying the usual EU solution to things which patently aren't working: a lot more of the things which patently aren't working! There's method in this general about-face madness though, because when you are primed to do a Corbyn-McDonnell you can never be wrong, or blamed for anything; it's all the fault of the minions and the electorate (or the poor-b immigrants who've spent every cent they had) for not keeping up with the current party line. Joe Goebells? Naah - I think Uncle Joe could relate to that though!
  19. ...and neither is the rest of Europe! The only ones applauding are the apparatchiks and those with their snout in the EU trough. The interests of ordinary Germans no longer count, because there's the post-democratic-elites to do their thinking for them. But, most ordinary Germans no longer share the collective guilt complex that haunts Merkel and her cohorts. They just want to see the lives of their children improve, not get worse. They worked bloody hard for this, and it's being snatched away by political dogmatists. Very little reporting of this from the BBC here, and virtually no reporting of the building burnings.
  20. M&S bras and panties guy, now on-line grocer, Stuart Rose at the launch of the "IN campaign" in London yesterday: There's huge logic in that - not! If I was a villain somewhere else in Europe I simply wouldn't be getting here because the UK government would once again have the right to say I couldn't come Mr Rose! But, I suspect you knew that already. If Stuart Rose is the best duplicitous Dave can muster to head up the IN campaign then they are in for a hard time. He isn't at all convinced himself, as you can read in much of the material he's formerly approved as a chief of of anti-EU group Business for Britain. That he's agreed to help out his chum Dave and other embattled big-business types is really just the old boy's network in full flow. His reward for this will undoubtedly be elevation to the peerage. So cosy that our Country has such clear and predictable paths to glory, but... it's as nothing compared with the Brussels feeding trough, and its unparalleled failed-domestic-politico's retirement system!
